People forget how ordinary Bernard looked against Dawson and Dawson being a lefty played a big role in it imo.

That's one way of looking at it. What I saw is Dawson not looking good himself, and being in a rough fight where he couldn't land clean or win clean rounds. Hopkins didn't get dominated and managed to get a draw on one card even though he didn't land anything of note.

And we all know what happened to Dawson after that fight.

It was an ugly fight for the most part, but you could clearly tell that Dawson being a southpaw was throwing Bernard off alot. It wasn't anything that Dawson actually did....Just the left-hander angle advantages that were annoying him.

Being a southpaw if you know how to use it is a bigger advantage than many people believe...It's a legitimate real advantage in boxing.

Everyone looks worse against southpaws in general.

That was a bad beatdown. Hopefully Agnew isn't ruined.

Agnew deserves some props (to an extent) for making it to the 7th round. There's also no shame in losing to a guy like Kovalev. But for those of you who are thinking his gameplan was to get to the later rounds, tire Kovalev out and then turn it up, you are wrong. This is how Agnew fights ALL the time. It wasn't because Kovalev's power was intimidating him. It was going to be 10-20 punches a round either way. Mostly counters. All defense. You won't be turning on ESPN or wherever he ends up and see something different. It's just how he fights.

When Agnew went from throwing 20 punches a round to zero punches, that when the Kovalev effect took place.

I was somewhat impressed by Agnew, he had a pretty good defense and seemed like a very nice and humble guy and at least he stepped up to the challenge and fought the Krusher. He desevers alot of respect and i would like to see him again. He would probably do pretty good against a couple other guys in that division.

I don't know, the hands up defense didn't work well, 3 kd's and a 7 round KO. Saved him from another 3rd round KO I guess. But it would be good if he could get some decent fights, deserves a good spot for stepping up and taking the fight.
