Comments Thread For: Roach: Mayweather, Pacquiao Options Getting Smaller

Freddie Roach, who trains Manny Pacquiao, feels a potential fight will Floyd Mayweather Jr. will eventually happen because both boxers are running out of opponents. Right now, they fight on separate networks, with Mayweather under an exclusive deal with Showtime and Pacquiao fighting on HBO - although he is not contractually bound to them.

With their options getting smaller, Roach can see the fight coming together in the near future. It won't be in 2014. Pacquiao is fighting WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley in a rematch on April 12th. If he wins, then he will face the winner of Juan Manuel Marquez-Mike Alvarado in the fall.

    Same S, different toilet.

Give it up Roach. Floyd is afraid of Manny like cats are afraid of water.

It's Pacquiao who is running out of options. Mayweather could easily fill his remaining three fights after Maidana with Garcia, Khan, and somebody like Thurman.

        Garcia and Khan?

50 years old JMM can beat either guy with a 3 week training camp.

90% of the boxing world Floyd has nightmares over fighting PAC , this is nothing new. It's been like this for last few years. Never known a top fighter scared as hell to fight another fighter. Floyd isn't ****** , he knows who he can beat and who he can't or is a big risk. Floyd wud take a terrible beating of his life , this is for sure. PAC even offered to fight Floyd for FREE to prove he can beat him but Floyd still chickened out.

Pacquiao certainly is running out of options, his last ppv had very disappointing sales even though it was against a Mexican.

He better hurry up and leave Top Rank.

If they don't fight each other Floyd's legacy will take a bigger hit than Mannys
