  • Comments Thread For: Hall vs. Ward Early Results: Eddie Chambers Wins

Comebacking former world heavyweight title challenger "Fast" Eddie Chambers (37-4, 19 KOs) got his first win in three years and made it look easy against hulking but bitterly overmatched Czech journeyman Tomas Mrazek (9-46-6, 5 KOs). Chambers, who has turned 32 tonight, stopped Mrazek with 25 seconds left in the sixth and final round.

Chambers, who lost in 2012 to Tomasz Adamek and then in 2013 to Thabiso Mchunu, has been outjabbing the plodding Czech for all six rounds, adding damaging series of power punches at will. Mrazek was repeatedly hurt, totally disoriented and unfit to give fits to Chambers. However, he lasted well into the sixth and was prematurely stopped by the referee on a questionably shut eye, despite vigorously fighting back. [Click Here To Read More]

Going by this they should have stopped the fight sooner. If its very obvious that Mrazek wasn't troubling Chambers and Mrazek was taking a hard beating which it sounds like the case the author is making. One sided beatdowns at the heavyweights like this is how we end up with Magomhed situation.

This fight was not a TD it was a NC. The BBBoC have no clue and British refs are a joke.

I remember Quigg-Munroe I got ruled a TD too. Pretty bull**** call, but I seem to remember the BBBoC reasoning that "Oh, we're not part of the Association of Boxing Commissions" or some such ****. I might be wrong.

                Wrong set of rules bro.

The fight was sanctioned by British board of boxing and this is pasted from their rules.

                Accidental Fouls

                1. If an accidental foul causes an injury severe enough for the referee to stop the bout immediately, the bout will result in a TECHNICAL DRAW if stopped before four (4) completed rounds. Four (4) rounds are complete when the bell rings signifying the end of the fourth round.

                2. If an accidental foul causes an injury severe enough for the referee to stop the bout immediately after four (4) rounds have occurred, the bout will result in a TECHNICAL DECISION awarded to the boxer who is ahead on the score cards at the time the bout is stopped.

This confusion is part of the reason there was so many tears over Scott-Chisora, because the rules are slightly different.

This is because the BBBoc is corrupt. A TD means it is a draw, meaning the bookmakers don't have to pay back any bets, as if it was a NC.

A fighter could have dominated 3 rounds be up on the cards had numerous knocks downs and there is a accidental cut and it is a draw. He has a draw on his record.

                  That is BS.

On this example I agree, scoring it a draw and damaging the record of someone who could easily have been winning or gone on to win is pretty ****.

On other issues, such as fighter safety, I think the BBBoC does an excellent job.
