The only wild card looming is what if Wach upsets Povektin in their November fight? Would Povektin essentially lose his number 1 manda spot?

I admire Povetkin's boldness in selecting Wach as a stay busy fight, but it really is a big risk that he's taking.
I think we might see this go to purse bid. Wilder wants it in the States and Povetkin might not get the money he wants and will let his guys try and bet large again.

I don't think Wach upsets him... he's a big tough guy yea, but I ust don't see it. But if he did upset him, he'd most likely lose his spot, like when Boytsov lost to Leapai.

I think the only risk here is fighting in November instead of earlier since negotiations start in October and the fight is due by January... yea they'll probably extend the fight date if he gets some boo boo or something.

Another reason why I think Wilder might squeeze in another fight

Wach's best effort was a moral victory in the Klitschko fight. That he was able to survive against a prime Wladimir Klitschko tells me he's a pretty durable guy. Other than that, I can't think of any real notable wins although he's looked good against C level opposition. I just think that if he has a Buster Douglas kind of night then Povetkin is screwed out of a title shot.

I hope it goes to purse bid because I have a feeling that a wealthy Russian businessman would put up ridiculous cash to stage this fight in Moscow. I'm a Wilder fan but Deontay has been on easy street too long and I want to see some adversity dealt his way.

Wilder is saying Haymon is ready to match him... so it looks like purse bid is the way to go for either men. Hope they don't delay it forever like the last one
