All Kovalev can do/ will do is keep fighting and beating his opponents. The world is full of boxers his weight. Since when is his future success dependent on Adonis Stevenson? Who really cares now?

Whatever other fighters do is irrelevant if they avoid him. It is now Stevenson/Hopkins who lose credibility by avoiding him.

so? he still could have fought him at 175. winning the lineal title in another division is still considered a great achievement right? no he would rather beat a weight drained opponent. the money's the same so who cares about achievements right?

and stevenson offered to fight ward at 168 after he ko'd dawson in 1 round. why didn't ward accept? he just fought dawson who was lineal 175 at 168 so why not? instead he said stevenson and bute had to earn it hmmm like rodriguez earned it? why the double standards?

ward tends to forget that as well...

        1.75 million?

        Wow.

        Good move by both parties.

Stevenson for getting Showtime to pay that much for that fight and HBO saving money on no guarantee

Showtime has too many fighters. How are they going to put on enough fights to get all of these guys on the network? Where is Showtime going to get the billion dollar budget to sustain all of the fighters?

They might think they are running the game now but the bottom will fall out soon. Guys will start to leave because they will be sitting on the self for so long.

They get some leeway with Canelo on PPV, especially if they put him on 3 times this year..... July sounds like a horrible idea though.

As for stevenson/Hopkins.... they might but this on PPV again, but don't expect anything big.

Stevenson might make a little more than 1.75 due to him getting Canadian PPV revenue....but Showtime will really blow their budget with him. Hope it's worth it, that is if he fights Hopkins after Fonfara......might request another build up fight

Hopkins and Stevenson would both run back to HBO if Kovalev fought on Showtime.

It's why show time has quadruple headers and triple headers whilst hbo have double headers.

Also , hbo does more ppvs than regular

Hbo have bigger budget but show time are spending more.

I think they must be getting the money from guys like Canelo, who incidentally is not an haymon fighter. They paid him 1.25 mil which seems too little considering how many ppvs the Angulo card sold.
