Him and gamboa aren't helping themselves, they should learn from Lara, he will fight anybody for any money and now hes getting a lot of attention. Not like your Cubanos thinking they are worth a lot of money, blame it on Rigos promoter Caribe promotions. Rigo is lucky bob arum did what he did for him
The only problem is the promoters and he is so good that nobody wants to fight him at the present. Gambia said he fight for any money when Mickey Mouse said he was pricing out. After that he has no more excuses and Arum came to rescue Mickey Mouse.
I can't accept that all defensive fighters are boring. Mayweather is defensive and you see his fights because are well promoted. We will see if Santa Cruz will run also when Rigo finalize his contract in a couple of months like the other Mexicans champions are running of Lara and Gamboa

Yes, bt remember Rigo is out of this world as boxer. Bob Arum wanted to do something similar with Lomachemko but he is good but not as Rigo is. Rigo is unique in technique, natural capacities and trained in one of the best school of boxing proved

The problem Mr. Rocostaa with all due respect is that your Cuban boxers while they have an enormous amount of talent, do not know how to be professional fighters. Their style is still very amateur based, and that does not reflect well on TV. It isn't the promoters who are holding your fighters back it's the TV networks who don't want those kinds of fighters on TV. They don't excite fans.

Whether we like it or not professional boxing is about putting butts in seats and eyeballs on TV. It's about entertaining people, whether you do it by making yourself a celebrity like Mayweather did, or Knocking out people like Mike Tyson did. Rigondeaux, Lara, Abril even Mexican Miguel Vasquez simply don't capture people's attention through their fights or personality and as a result get lost in the minds of fans.

And how you explain Mayweather case who is defensive and most of his fights that he didn't took risks?. Then he choose aggressive fighters to compensate but Arum is looking for other defensives fighters in order to Rigo look bad as Agbeko was. Caribe promotions said this about agbeko but Arum insisted to make the fight just to screw Rigo.
My hole point is that when a fighter is counterpuncher and defensive usually promoters are able to compensate this as Mayweather has done for several years. In case of Rigo Aum is still upset with Donaire defeat and is doing everything to make look bad Rigo. Whenever Rigo had a offensive fighter he has knocked, but based always is his counterpuncher style.

The major difference is that Miguel Vasquez doesn't complain about it. He goes out and fights whom ever he can. He's fought in California, New York, Vegas, different places in Mexico, fought in China, about to go to the UK. He doesn't complain about being the lineal champ at 135 and not getting the big names like DeMarco, Broner, Linares, and others. He goes out and fight as the undercard knowing he is what he is.

On the other hand we can't go a few weeks without hearing from Rigo, Lara and their 9 fans complaining about how they can't get a fight. Heck they need to either change their style and be more fan friendly or take their undercard money and shut up.
