From day one of hearing the news that Cleverly was moving up, I also wondered this...

After hearing his reaction in the wake of the Kovalev loss, like how there where talks of him losing heart and maybe retiring, I think maybe mentally he is at a bit of a loss as to finding an answer for what to do next. His career and confidence have took a huge blow and in this hope of finding an answer he decided for some reason that to move up is his best shot.

It's the only thing I could think of.

Listen to this interview, there doesn't seem to be any conviction or confidence in him at all.

A bit worried about not training with Adam booth because he was homesick!!! It's a 2 hour journey for FFS!!!!!!! Not a champions mentality!!!!

Is there any top level/elite British fighter??

Yeah he's an idiot for moving up. You got beat at light heavy, big deal get over it and come back stronger at LH. At CW you are heading for disaster.

Money. He's just left Frank Warren and signed with Matchroom. Eddie Hearn is desperate to make Cleverly-Bellew II for some reason and probably offered him a lot of money.

His lack of power is going to be his un-doing against the bigger CW's.

He's probably guarenteed a good pay day in a rematch with Bellew..that a-side though i can't see him getting much done in the CW division.

I'd like to see Huck-Featherly. Huck would shit stab him.
