That **** is poppin', ya need to get up on it if you're not already. I get it, some don't like the grappling but it's not fair to say it's garbage just cuz u don't like it.
Dogg MMA is not popping anymore, I used to be on that years ago, it has lost its luster significantly, Dana White claim if they got a network TV deal that **** would blow up be bigger than football and nascar if it were on free tv, they got the FOX deal and their ratings and ppvs dropped significantly and now he is desperate his only big draw is a woman and he protects her from threats like Cyborg.

Dana started this crap with boxing is dying **** he was saying, now his sport is no longer hot, its like a fad that cooled down.

Then eventually they have a chance to stand and trade with them again accumulating more punishment.
Their is different degrees of how hard a punch is, especially with the small 4oz gloves in mma..
What u say makes sense, but think zab Floyd fight, zab tagged him and with mma gloves Floyd probably would have gone done, or even flash knock downs, and yes mma guy would try and pull guard from the bottom,, but think ruslan Bradley, in that 1st round ruslan would have pounded out Bradley and fight done, but with 10 counts and ref ruling that a slip, Bradley got a chance to recover, and take more shots for another 12 rounds

since they were banned in boxing severe brain damage has decreases dramatically. i am well aware it is against the rules in mma as well, but that doesnt keep them from taking damage to the back of the head nearly every fight.

takedowns and slams causing fighters to fall hard on the back of the head, punches landing behind the had due to them being in various positions you wouldnt see in boxing. i have seen fighters get knocked out from trauma to the back of the head several times in mma and it is well known how dangerous it is to take shots there.

this is why boxing is more safe to me, its all speculation obviously but imo.

edit: dont forget fighters do get concussed and keep fighting in mma as well, just look at hendricks vs lawler. taking shots while already unconscious is also very dangerous, which you see quite frequently in mma but seldom in boxing.
The rabbit punches are very dangerous... Both sports are dangerous

I opened National Post at 4 last night but too lazy to make a thread about this lol.

You should specify "according to this study" as it could be right or wrong.

A mixed martial arts fighter suffers a traumatic brain injury in almost a third of professional bouts — far more than the rate of such injuries in hockey, football or even boxing, suggests a new Canadian study.

I'd always assumed it was more that they had brain damage to begin with and that's why they chose MMA over boxing.
I mean, that's the only explanation I can think of

Utter nonsense. Rarely will you see an MMA fighter who slurs his words. In boxing? All the time.

I think NASCAR is garbage that's #1. Football though, ain't nothing taking over that. Lol Dana just be trolling bro, just like Bob and Rich. And everyone says that dumb **** about boxing dieing. Idc bout how many "draws" there are either. Boxing has like 2 or 3. And he's not exactly protecting Ronda, she's at 135, Cyborg 145. I know she started at 145 but she made her name at BW when she won the strikeforce title. IMO MMA is great, I didn't really like it before the way I do now. Guess we just agree to disagree.

no but many others have and found this to be conclusive. it is fact that boxing causes far more permanent and serious damage. it's not even debatable

That's because MMA is a pretty new sport. Come back a couple of decades from now and you'll see a lot of old punch drunk former fighters.

They take punches kicks knees and elbows to the head for a living so it will be some damage that's for sure. At the end of the day both boxing and MMA dangerous sports and far from healthy. I believe majority of boxers and MMA fighters will have sustained a brain injury when they retire from the sport

Mma has been around for 2 generations working on a 3rd...

Tito, chuck, couture, crocop, Hughes, Royce, Severn, tank, shamrock, bas, and countless others have been retired for years and no sign of speech problems

Look at Berto, Dawson, Taylor, lacy, and a host of others that were fighting or retired that have speech problems
