I dont think Cotto has had a better career..wins wise. :/... I think Pavlik and P Will are better wins than what Cotto has (a past his Shane which is still a good win but its his best one)

Yes Cotto lost to Trout and Mayweather. It's very clear to me that Skill wise Mayweather is far superior to Martinez. Martinez hasn't faced either one of those guys and who knows if he beats either one. They'd be extremely tough fights, even for a God like Martinez . Power + speed is greater than power. Cotto does have the ability to hit martinez with shots he wont see coming. You'd be a fool to think Cotto will come in and recklessly pressure martinez. He'll be doing more than just one thing. I think Cotto's speed will bother Martinez more than the other way around as Martinez is not used to having speed coming back at him. Cotto is better defensively and I've already proved that through compubox on NSB. and Cotto has been in the ring with better competition throughout his career, hence the comment about Cotto's career. Lineal titles.... hmmmm.... Cotto's last defense at 140 was against undefeated Malignaggi. He then went on to beat an undefeated Quintana, Zab Judah, Urkal, and the legendary Shane Mosley. Thats one small run in a great career. As a lineal champ Martinez still hasn't faced the level of opposition Cotto has. Even coming up Cotto was matched tough. Cotto's expirience is at least a level above Martinez. This is a great fight. Most trainers and fighters think so. Just not the idiots on NSB.

Speed?? What speed are you referring to when it comes to cotto? foh. Cotto had good speed as an amateur & on his way up. Once he moved into 47 that died down. Cotto's biggest asset is his excellent timing (particularly w/ a strong jab...which is his dominant hand) What was able to put down both Gomez & Clottey was the precise timing of the jab. That will disrupt Sergio for sure somewhat. And defense... Cotto will come in crouched behind a double arm bar defense & will get beaten to the punch & have his offense muted throughout the night. Cotto is way too methodical in his approach to win this fight. He will fight much like all the fighters after the Dzinzurik fight...He will wait wait wait & not engage...only in small bursts. But Sergio will impose his range & footwork & power to keep him at bay. It's funny bc initially I thought this fight would end in a ko. But I am beginning to realize it will be a pretty dull fight w/ its moments in spots. Sergio hits hard (so hard that Cintron thought he got head butted...but it was a str left.) & Cotto will not be apt to engage. & Ssegio will dance & posture & pot-shot him all night. Please don't let Miguel run out of steam as "history has shown." It's over when he does & Martiniez gets that patented 2nd wind around rd 7-8. It could get ugly. As far as ur claim of defense...Dude I don't need compubox numbers to see who has taken the least punishment in their fights....it's not hard to find miguel. & In over 50+ fights Martinez has not once been battered even w/ his hands low style. Cotto gets a c+/B- in Defense at best. & lastly, the one factor I thinlk many people are overlooking is Martinez's corner & having a full strength training crew w/ Gabby Sarmiento back from exile. People forget the intelligence that crew came up w/ during the time of Serg's accent. They were brilliant. I have seen a small decline since his departure in their inability to adjust in fights. But I expect that to disappear on june 7th. You can bet that team Maravilla will have an excellent A,B,& C plan in place to defeat cotto. & Sincethey are boldly predicting a ko I am expecting them to be fully prepared. Usually Roach predicts a Ko...He's been as quiet as a church mouse in that regard.

Cotto's had a better career? That's debatable. On the one hand, he's beaten more top names. On the other, he's never been lineal champion in any division. He may be younger, but he's taken much more punishment. Better defense? Again, debatable. Cotto gets hit with more punches than does Martinez. Clearly a better technical fighter? Cotto was outboxed by the last two top ten fighters he faced. Martinez has beaten several skilled fighters. Martinez is a bit underrated in the technical department because of the way he drops his hands. Martinez is also better defensively than he's given credit for. Cotto can counter and box effectively, but it doesn't sound like that will be his gameplan, based on what Roach is saying. Cotto might hit hard at 140 and 147, but his power's been good at best at 154 and at 160, it certainly won't be what Chavez's and Pavlik's power were. Martinez has substantial advantages in height, reach, hand speed, power, chin, and stamina. What people aren't getting is that Cotto is not a middleweight. Cotto was getting hurt by the likes of Judah and Pacquiao. It took a full haymaker from a cruiserweight sized Chavez to hurt Martinez. I can't see Cotto hurting Martinez, but I can see Martinez easily hurting Cotto with the first power shot he lands.

Sergio is not faster than Floyd or Pacquiao.

This is a smokescreen by Freddy. They don't care about Sergio's speed, just his southpaw stance. They'll spar a bunch of southpaws to give Cotto some looks and work on his power to make the left hooks to the body really hurt.

How can people say Shane was past his prime in 07' yet he went on to beat Margarito by tko (amazing feat), and about 3 years post Cotto faces Mayweather and rocks his world momentarily, and goes on to fight Pacquiao. Seems to me Cotto's Mosley win is very legitimate. It's the combination of wins like Malignaggi, judah, quintana, mosley, clottey, Margarito that are just plain better than a one punch KO of williams, and a UD of Pavlik. Macklin, Barker, and Murray have all accomplished close to nothing.

If Shane Mosley, and Manny Pacquiao say you have good speed, and in the majority of your fights you have a hand speed advantage, that means you have good speed.

There aren't 2 levels of speed, extremely fast, and slow. There's lots of In between

Roach predicted an 8th round KO... said Martinez is a great soccer player and a secondary fighter. He hasn't been quiet at all.
