its sad when the fans take this stance. at the end of the day, nobody has a gun to a persons head saying be a boxer. they choose to be a boxer. now if fans are going to accept fighters not fighting the best just because its good for their bank account then that is wrong. why would a paying fan want to subsidize this?
Shade: when manny and floyd didn't fight in 2010 did you stop buying either's fights?

No you didn't. Niether did most of us. In doing so we all said to the networks that we will give them money even if they don't give us what we want.

Its ok to post that you feel the best should fight the best. But if you continue to spend money nothing will change.

why did you continue to buy?

I posted so much more in that post that was related to the thread topic. So i'm staying on it.

Frankly there has never been a discussion about shane not being the #1 ranked ww in 2010. If you want to continue feel free to PM me.

no point pm'ing you since you fail to acknowledge the fact that Ring ranked Pacquaio number 1 at welterweight at the time of the mayweather-mosley fight.

i get the whole fighters fight for money thing...but lets not pretend that making big fights would earn the fighters peanuts. adonis isnt going to be out on the street with holes in his pockets if he fights kovalev before hopkins.

big fights is what made this sport. the idea of seeing who the best is, not who can maximize their income statement while minimizing risk.

iv not bought a mayweather fight since 2007 pal. i bought the pac marquez fights because they are guaranteed to be good fights.

thats the difference, if i dont like the fight i wont buy it just because its pac or floyd. to be honest i prefer watching fights, not sparring sessions.

Fine. But do you see how you are contributing to the real problem?

Its cool that you thought that about JMM v Manny. But it wasn't the fight you wanted-Manny v floyd. So what message do you think you truly sent?

Same thing applies to me- I got all the floyd fights. What message do you think I sent?

As long as we purchase inferior fights, no matter how much we may like the individual fighter, we send the message that its ok to air these fights rather than the ones we say we want.

Rather than say "Yeah let me see him face these guys", and "Man I wish we could see these two to face off soon", they are more like "Oh he's not a draw, thats a shlt fight", or "Oh, oh but look at his PPV stats", or whatever...

It's ****** and just screams out casual fanboyism...The kind of guys that are a fan of one or two fighters, not the sport.
Yeah unfortunately that's the case, I just feel like fans can maybe influence the sport more it they unite.
