A lot of boxing fans seem to think its ok to fight for $$$ rather then fighting the best in their weight division.

why wouldn't it be OK to fight for money?

if you think these guys fight to prove they are better boxers you are naive. you can die in there. simply fighting to see who is best isn't worth the risk. they fight for money.

iv noticed that alot on here recently. when you are more interested in another mans coin than seeing the best fights, you need to give your head a wobble.

whats even more ridiculous is the top fighters are getting paid a wedge anyway, so its not like they are fcuking skint!

Yeah guys are like that with some fighters, I was talking about this type of thing yesterday, about how some fans obsess over business matters rather than wish for great fights and discuss outcomes they'd rather argue about what happens behind the scenes.

Rather than say "Yeah let me see him face these guys", and "Man I wish we could see these two to face off soon", they are more like "Oh he's not a draw, thats a shlt fight", or "Oh, oh but look at his PPV stats", or whatever...

It's ****** and just screams out casual fanboyism...The kind of guys that are a fan of one or two fighters, not the sport.

WHen certain fighters don't "fight the best" there is an uproar. WHen other fighters don't fight the best they get a pass. Let's look at WW for example.

When SHane Mosley was considered the best ww in the world Floyd Mayweather fought and defeated him. Floyd, since then has been the lineal champ (some like poster techliam and the TRBB disagree) and clearly the best ww in the world.

Of the top 5 ranked ww, only JMM has fought him. Tim and Manny have not. Tim nor Manny have never fought the best ww in the world at any point in their careers. Yet it's floyd that people say didn't fight the best in the division. Does that make sense?

As for holding promoters accountable, I think you should look at the networks. Take for example the MW division.

HBO, according to many posters on NSB, wants a GGG/Sergio fight badly. Sergio has refused this fight. He has an HBO deal. How does HBO "punish" him for not giving them the fight they and fans want-by heavily promoting and allowing him to use their PPV apparatus to show his fight with Miguel Cotto from MSG. HMm, thats some real anger. They are using the same apparatus to show GGG/Chavez Jr.

SO instead of fans getting sergio v GGG on regular TV (since niether has proven to be a ppv a side) we have to pay for not 1, not 2 , but 3 fights just to get the one fight we want. SO a fight that should be the headliner on HBO WCB will end up costing us at least $150 to view 3 ppv's. SHowtime is no better stringing out QUillin defenses as filler for undercards rather than put him in with a real fighter.

SO I'm with you if you want to see the best fights. Just make sure you go after the real entity causing us not to see these fights.
here you are again spewing out diatribe based on false information. manny pacquaio was ranked number 1 at welterweight when mayweather and mosley fought.

Pacquaio was ranked number 1 by Ring. That is a fact.

edit: you mentioned it , not me, and i simply corrected you , now you want to get off the topic because you are not willing to admit you are wrong

you can die in there but you get paid handsomely if you are a top boxer. i could die in my line of work as an electrician, but you dont see me getting paid like they do!

its sad when the fans take this stance. at the end of the day, nobody has a gun to a persons head saying be a boxer. they choose to be a boxer. now if fans are going to accept fighters not fighting the best just because its good for their bank account then that is wrong. why would a paying fan want to subsidize this?
