The only MW Top Rank has close to title contention is Matvey Korobov and he was mentioned as a possible future Golovkin opponent around time of the Monaco fight. Having him face someone like Lee could set up a title shot for him once Golovkin goes back down to MW and if he beats Chavez i don't think guys like Geale and Murray will be any more eager to step up and face him. Win win for K2 and Top Rank.

In his last fight Korobov stopped Edwards who went on to KO SMW prospect Jack afterwards.

I think Murray happens in November. He signed with Rodney Berman. Berman seems confident that'll happen.

I'm having trouble seeing the similarity, but I can't tell if it's because of the extra fat. He looks much older than GGG to me.

I get that this is prize fighting !!!! And I understand that this fight can generate some serious money!!! But Andre Ward is the Man to beat @ 168lbs !!! GGG can 168lbs for Chavez jr but not Ward??? Ward better get off of his high horse and fight somebody !!! If GGG makes easy work of Chavez jr I see him and Ward next!!! If Ward doesn't move to 175lbs!!!

Wow is this really happening ? I'm almost shocked at the idea of a big fight coming together considering all the disappointing news lately .

Out of all the ppvs for this year this is the one I would buy if I could only get one. I love GGG but I don't see him getting the ko. We all have bad things we could say about Chavez but you can't deny his chin, and at 168 I see GGG getting a UD. If I'm wrong though I'll go on record saying GGG could go on to become not only a boxing star, but icon.

Well hopefully GGG retires Chavez JR. I hope GGG does not damage JR to a point where he can't live a normal life after boxing. Also, why not Ward vs GGG? Ward wants it but GGG does not.

I agree Ward wants it, but 90% of boxing public is not interested in Ward as his style is very difficult to watch(boring but effective). I have been following boxing for 20 years and I would rather pay to see GGG taking on Martinez, Quillin, Canelo, anybody but Ward.

I dont think some people understand that GGG is a middleweight, he is only moving up for the chavez fight.

Imo ward needs to challenge himself instead of asking other fighters to move down or come up in weight divisions to fight him.
