here i am as a big bernard hopkins fan saying stevenson-kovalev is a better fight. then the winner can fight bhop-shumenov winner. Undisputed champion across the board - all 4 belts, we havent seen it since hopkins at middleweight.

Actually Kovalev and ME were looking for the Stevenson fight straight after Sillakh, it was GYM and Stevenson who wanted to wait. Curiously negotiations were already underway for Kovalev - Fonfara (who's about the highest rated US based LHW who was available) when GYM cut in with a better deal for Stevenson - Fonfara, leaving Kovalev scrambling for an opponent - in the end this turned out to be Agnew, who ultimately doubled his price late in negotiations leaving Kovalev to have to take a cut to his own purse just to get the fight made.

Yup, it's very easy to spot but it shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. They do the same thing for their hero.
