Ward never called Golovkin out, he came out from behind the couch and started talking when he heard Golovkin was staying at 160 and even then never said he wanted to fight Golovkin. Certain fans just ran with that.

This article clearly shows that Kovalev chose Cleverly when he had a Chance to choose Hopkin instead.HBO and Showtime are not the only networks out there also,Kovalev could have picked a network outside those 2.

Kathy Duva, CEO of Main Events, advised BoxingScene.com that she was informed by the International Boxing Federation that light heavyweight contender Sergey Kovalev (21-0-1, 19KOs) will remain as the mandatory challenger to champion Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2, 32KOs). Earlier today, BoxingScene broke the news that Karo Murat (25-1-1, 15KOs) had obtained his visa and his promoter, Sauerland Event, submitted an application to reinstate him as the mandatory challenger to Hopkins. Hopkins was scheduled to fight Murat on July 13th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, but last week the fight was canceled because Murat was unable to obtain a visa to gain entry to the United States. Earlier this week, the IBF sent out a notifcation that Sergey Kovalev (21-0-1, 19KOs) was the new mandatory challenger to Hopkins.

Ward never called Golovkin out?Nice try,Ward has called out GGG numerous times interviews,he even put him on blast when he reminded everyone that-GGG claimed he`ll fight anyone from 154-175 but will not call Ward out for a fight.

            You're kidding right?
What network could support this fight?

Wasn't Murat Hopkins' mandatory? So Hopkins wouldn't have been forced to fight Kovalev right away. Kovalev had a guaranteed straight shot at Cleverly and an HBO contract so he took that rather than waiting for Hopkins.

Only when Kovalev signed with HBO did Hopkins start showing interest in the fight. Funny that.

The GGG one, I agree with you on. The hypocrisy from his annoying fans is incredible. He's taking Chavez Jr for the money - that's fine. Exactly what Sergio is doing fighting Cotto.

It's always a cherry pick unless you like a certain fighter. Fan is short for fanatic. Truth is Floyd fans, GG fans, Danny Garcia fans, Pacquioa fans all act the same.

Murat was Hopkins mandatory but couldn't get a visa.So the IBF put Kovalev as the mandatory to Hopkins IBF belt.At the time Hopkins and Kovalev wanted to fight Cleverly, but Hopkins said he was willing to fight his mandatory if the IBF asked him to,But Kovalev chose Cleverly, then after that Murat was able to get a visa so Hopkins fought Murat.
