Will Mayweather choose the gloves for Marcos Maidana to wear?

Last time i checked, Guerrero wore Reyes gloves just like he did in his previous bouts before he fought Floyd. Canelo wore Grant against Floyd just he did against Mosley and Trout. So..............

marquez wore reyes as well. besides ortiz, everyone got to wear their glove of choice.

the only fighter that comes to mind who is a stickler for the opponent's gloves is erik morales.

Honestly, the glove picking thing is a mind game. I understand a boxer becomes comfortable with a certain brand of gloves and there are subtle differences between all the brands, but at the end of the day if you can punch, you can punch; and Maidana can punch.

Maidana likes the Everlast puncher's glove. Will Floyd Mayweather let Chino wear those? Or is Chino gonna be given some puffy ass Grant's?

Doesn't matter, IMO. Maidana is a puncher no matter what. Sledgehammers in both hands.



Mayweather chose Victor Ortiz' gloves for him. Ortiz normally wears Cleto Reyes puncher's glove.

Mayweather doesn't do that. BTW Everlast is not a punchers glove. They are actually considered pillows by many. Grants are Hybrids- a mixture of both a punchers glove with custom pad protection. Reyes gloves are punchers gloves. They are usually very small and not good for defensive protection. They have less padding in them but enough protection for a fighters hands depending on how they individually react to delivering a punch.

Oscar De La Hoya made Floyd wear 10 oz Reyes and those gloves were bigger than normal 10 oz gloves. ODLH decided everything for their fight.

I'll drop this right here for you.

First off I said it would be disappointing. Not that Floyd will make him.

Secondly, you don't know the circumstances of gloves behind that fight. You have no idea why they were both wearing winning gloves.

For all we know Morales wanted it in the contract to both wear winning gloves. Morales has known hand issues from early in his career.

As many of you know I work for Everlast and one of my newer clients was Chino Maidana. We have had some good success with Chino and he liked our new MX glove so save for fights in Argentina (where he has to use Corti) he fights in Everlast in one form or another

so when the Morales fight was announced I reached out to Sebastian C. who advised Maidana asking him what Chino needed and which Everlast glove he wanted for this fight. Sebastian told me that Morales made him choose Winning gloves for this fight or no fight at all. I reached out to people at Golden Boy and they verified that Chino could only use Winning fight gloves on April 9th.

It's when people bring up things like this that I remember how much of a disgrace Mayweather is. I remember that crap.

We'll see... He does everything in his power to reduce the risk of a cherry pick.

Everybody get on the Maidana train though, we are hurting Floyd.
