Will Mayweather choose the gloves for Marcos Maidana to wear?

Maidana likes the Everlast puncher's glove. Will Floyd Mayweather let Chino wear those? Or is Chino gonna be given some puffy ass Grant's?

Doesn't matter, IMO. Maidana is a puncher no matter what. Sledgehammers in both hands.

Mayweather chose Victor Ortiz' gloves for him. Ortiz normally wears Cleto Reyes puncher's glove.

Yes. He's the champ, so he gets to have control.

No. Mayweather will let Maidana pick his glove of choice.

    Honestly, it doesn't really matter.

Fighters should not be dictating what gloves or equipment their opponents wear

If he could he would I bet! His fights are practically sparring sessions anyway.

But Mayweather is the champ... And the cash cow... Don't you think after 18 years of being the champion he should have the ball in his court?

Glove size is usually in the contract. If Floyd is dictating what brand, that would already have been decided as that would already be in the signed contract as well.

Are you asking if Mayweather should go into a fight with an advantage just because he's the "champ"?

If the commission approves of the equipment, then you should be able to choose whatever you want. Should Lebron james tell Kevin Durant what sneakers to wear, or should pitchers tell batters what bat they could use in baseball?

That's completely different though, because basketball and baseball are not individual sports. Boxing matches are on a fight contract basis. So, things like gloves are negotiated and agreed to. That's not the case with a Lebron James or a Kevin Durant. LOL at the comparison.
