Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, had a vision of putting together a tripleheader where all three fights would have very little running and plenty of punching. That was his idea behind the Showtime televised triple for April 26th from the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

In the main event, WBA interim-welterweight champion Keith Thurman (22-0, 20 KOs) is going to face veteran Julio Diaz (40-9-1, 29 KOs). In 2013, Diaz came close to derailing Amir Khan but came up short after twelve rounds. He was then decisioned by current IBF champion Shawn Porter, who previously fought Diaz to a draw in 2012.

diaz has done alright lately but hasnt won and has no chance. neither does Belmontes who's never fought at 135 and is 2-3 in his last 5 fights. John Molina is is decent but he can't out last mathysse in a brawl. what a pathetic card. no wonder they never announced the opponents.

what do you guys think of Figueroa defending against Belmontes? a guy with 5 kos!
