Whether Schafer is full of it or not, everything he said in this interview is 100 percent accurate. These guys put their life on the line when they jump through those ropes, nobody on NSB will be around to help pay those expensive doctor bills when these guys are 65 years old having frequent headaches or other medical ailments god forbid. Its important for them to maximize their earning potential with every fight. Kovalev has nobody to fight after Agnew, Stevenson can go fight Hopkins, Pascal, Bute, Rematch Dawson if he wants, then Kovalev. Yeah I want to see the Kovalev fight but I understand where Stevenson is coming from

That's what it kind of sounds like. Maybe if Kovalev signed with Golden Boy they'd make the fight, or sign with Al Haymon (although Haymon is on recorded saying he's not interested in signing white people but then again he did sign Paulie so who knows).

I agree with Schaefer. Kathy Duva do act like HBO and her have a Side Deal. This is Buisness. If Showtime is gonna pay more. Why stay with Showtime?
