I would like to re-post my first message on this thread, from page 2, before the discussion turned to other matters, like the definition of a "fighter" and whether Bruce was even capable of fighting at all:

Sorry, bro, Tyson wouldn't even react to a feint from the 140 lb Lee. He'd just tear right through him like a tiger into a gazelle.
I made it clear in later posts that I believe Bruce's legend has been overblown by his legions of worshippers, but that that doesn't mean we should swing to the other extreme. I understand why some people refuse to believe anything about Lee without authentic fight footage, but there are things in life for which irrefutable proof has yet been provided. As usual, 99% of people come into these debates believing what they believe, and 99% of people leave the debate with their beliefs unchanged. lol

As the article you posted up earlier and it said most people acknowledge Lee was a genuine badass rings true. And the people who don't acknowledge this fact have got the problem, the irondanhamza of this world etc etc.

The Lee worshippers don't really have to overblow Lees legend, Bruce lee is what he is and that is a legend and there is no harm in Lee worshippers worshipping, if Elvis fans can worship Elvis.
Why does what Lee fans think about Bruce and people who admire Bruce worry some people so much, unless they've something against Lee?

ther'es certanly something wrong with worshipping an actor as a great fighter or teacher of fighting.

bruce lee was an actor. that's what he accomplished. that's why he's famous. he was a talented actor who died young. his "Fans" turned him into something he wasn't; a great fighter. if he weren't an actor, you'd have no idea who he was.

Some of you started to make me think "Maybe street fighting is legitimate" but I snapped out of that pretty fast.

I'm a stubborn guy really but I am open minded. Not so much with Bruce Lee types though, Actor's who pretended they were fighters doesn't sit well with me.

It's not only the lack of footage for me it's the lack of any actual record or not even record just anything at all. The only thing we really have is people who were friendly with him saying "He was pretty good".

Talented actor, ha ha ha. His acting was pretty bad wasn't it, unless he is jumping in the air stomping to death Bob Wall youd really believe Bob killed Lees sister the anguish on Lees face.

He was a talented martial artist, don't be scared to say that. Making your fellow martial artists and peers revere you must be considered an accomplishment, because I cant do that.
