To me, it's like saying Ray Arcel was a great fighter if he became a well known famous actor. A guy who was trained in Boxing and trained others in Boxing, knew how to fight but was never a fighter himself.
I don't see people saying "Who would win out of Ray Arcel and Muhammad Ali" Why? What's the difference? That Bruce Lee had a wide back and did one finger push ups and has about 1,000 myths about "infamous street fights" and "sparring sessions that no one else saw"?
I don't really know these martial artists who say these things about Bruce Lee. Which actual fighters said these things about Bruce Lee and what do they actually say?
What I do know is Bruce Lee isn't a fighter and that's a fact.
By the way, I ran into this article while doing some quick research. It's pretty interesting, and happens to have been written for Boxingscene. I was unaware of its existence. I would've copy/pasted the salient paragraph, but the site won't allow it. Here is the link (scroll down to the fourteenth paragraph):

A nod also has to be given to the difference between a boxer used to boxing matches and old world MA that continuously thinks about things using EVERY weapon and tactic they can bring to bear. Its a conceptual difference that you are undervaluing. But oh well.

Let's be clear on this point. If you want to believe Bruce never had any fighting experience of any kind, go right ahead. There is no record to prove it, to the best of my knowledge.

As for the article, how can the writer say "According to most sites with info on Lee state" what "Most websites" are these because I've never seen a single one.
Would be nice to hear from "Gary Elms"I wonder if he's still around to talk about it. Didn't even land a single punch apparently!

MMA may be more versatile but even then it's extremely limited, yes I said it extremely limited, so now imagine boxing. I know we love this sport but don't think that these athletes are that invincible outside the ring due to their credentials, a lot can be utilized outside the ring and Bruce Lee was an advocate for fighting "dirty", very vocal about it as well. From biting, to finger jabbing the eyes, hitting low, headbutting name it.

Duels were conducted in secret so neither party loses face. THATS cultural difference. And street fights couldnt exactly be documented either, no one could pull out their cell phones in the 50s and 60s or whatever when Bruce was coming up. Plus a man of his station in the martial arts hiearchy was receiving challenges all the time from people that wanted to have his glory and respect. This wasnt mcdojos like in America where mom picked up johnny from TKD then took him to ****in soccer practice. If you practice MA over there in THOSE times. You fought.

I don't care about how many street fights someone had, that doesn't make you an actual fighter.
A "fighter" is a guy who fights as his profession.
Which Bruce Lee did not do.
