I think it is interesting that HBO passed on one garbage fight, but is willing to show another one. I wonder if this decision has anything to do with Stevenson signing a contract with Al Haymon.

HBO should pass on any Stevenson fight unless the opponent is Kovalev. Stop letting these duckers fight bums on HBO. Maybe HBO is finally learning after the Berto flop.

What if both HBO and Showtime stood up to Top Rank/GBP/Al haymon and said we not going to have your fighter on our network unless they fight this fighter. Would that work?
Thats like Coke and Pepsi getting together and saying to McDonalds, "Hey either sell both of us at your restaurants or neither of us are going to be available at McDonalds." Doesn't make sense. Competition doesn't work together.

          HBO + Showtime= Audi + BMW
          - Don't work together.

HBO didnt pass on it, it was a fight they set up were going to televise. It has to do with being pushed for more money on a fight they were almost certainly vastly overpaying on with no deal that Kovalev will be next

I see you point. Makes sense. But dam we missing out on another good fight in Stevenson vs Kovalev this times its not due to a top rank and gbp but but between the networks. Us fans cant win.

I also think the whole top rank vs gbp think is bull ****, King and arum worked together to make the biggest fights all the time.

                    What Manny flop?

Second, In a way I agree, although Kovalev isnt a ducker - he's doign everything he can - calling Stevenson out at every turn- what more can he do? Stevenson seems to be the one who has all the excuses

Exactly, last thing HBO meeds to do is go back to the days of "andre Berto business".

Who in there right mind cares about Stevenson vs fondora? If don't want to fight kov, peace out.

And I highly doubt Showtime is loving the idea of oayng more $ for that fight either, and if they did pay more for that fight, than haymon has more power there than I even thought. Because he's the only person benefitting from that.
