LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas will be the center of the boxing universe Cinco de Mayo weekend and kicking it off will be an action-packed night of fights at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino when FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes feature a tripleheader that includes two World Championship bouts just one night before "THE MOMENT: Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana" takes place at MGM Grand. In the 12-round main event, the WBA Super Welterweight title is on the line when Cuban star Erislandy "The American Dream" Lara defends the belt against Las Vegas' own former World Champion Ishe "Sugar Shay" Smith.

Golden Boy is begging for Lara not to have a good fight for later use this as an excuse to avoid Canelo-Lara fight. This is a trap for Lara to achieve a good fight

That's some real $h!t right there! Smith is incredibly boring and very hard to be in an exciting looking fight with. Hopefully Lara puts him to sleep and makes a spectacle of it, would love him to be one of May's 3 last opponents!

i admit i have never seem smith, but is better for lara to knock him because then golden boy and canelo will blame lara for this boring fight. Arum did The same to rigondeaux with agbeko trap who didnt fought and now is blaming rigo for that

Ishe isn't as good as Trout, nor is he the non-stop puncher Angulo was for Lara. What does Smith bring to the table that'll trouble Landy? I expect this card to have Lara pumped. A big fight shouldn't be far off.

Smith will realize Lara is on a whole other level at the end of round 1.

I don't know if it'll happen that early, but it will happen. Ishe just isn't that good. Lara is clearly superior. Can Smith spoil enough to make the fight difficult to score? That's the only way I can see this fight even being close on the cards.
