lol.. people quick to say what Maidana will do to Khan but Khan was the one who almost waked right over Maidana and floored him bad the first fight. Khan can punch too.

This versión of Maidana is a different beast.

So is the new elite neck 2014 version of Khan.

If bum ass glass neck having no clinch holding Khan nearly KTFO'd Maidana in one, imagine what this new and improved Virgil Hunter schooled, Andre Ward dominating in sparring version of Khan would do to him.

Khan has regressed, Maidana has gotten better.

I think it is a pretty interesting fight, I think Khan would dominate the action when there was space but he is rather predictable so he could get caught out in the open and Maidana would certainly have the advantage in the rough game.

If there is a ref that doesn't allow much rough stuff that does favor Khan but if the ref would also be on holding then the advantage would not be as large as people would think.

It is pretty much a 50/50 fight or 55/45 either way.

It's past May 3rd now. You should watch his last fight. Even I get annoyed at Khan saying "new and improved Ehmayr Kaaan foh dis fight" all the time, but this time it was something else. Inside game needs work, but if 12 months has gotten him this far I have faith it will only get better.

Khan is capable, I'm going with Maidana who utilizes his jab to corner his opponents now and also knows how to hold and hit a lot better.

However it was a hugely flattering performance & I still say Maidana is not an elite fighter. In fact I think he is the biggest overachiever in boxing.
No dislike or hatred towards him, I am just noway near as high on him as others are.

He is strong, heavy handed & gutsy but does absolutely nothing particularly well. He is just a classic case of a very unskilled fighter with a very effective high volume brawling style.
Sometimes in boxing it only takes a few attributes to achieve great things & other times you can have many, many tools but get nowhere as you're lacking just one or two important aspects.

I would take the Khan from saturday over the Maidana from saturday in a heartbeat and a strong possibility of a stoppage.
Khan pivots he doesn't pull back in straight lines & lay on the ropes & I think that is the difference.
Repeat of the first fight for most part with Khan freezing him with combinations & blurring handspeed. Maidana is just too slow, yes Khans chin is bad but when he can see the shots coming he is fine.
Its when hes coming forward & gets in exchanges he gets tagged & hurt
a very unskilled brawler? is that why he was boxing karass, lopez, and setting up traps against broner and even floyd?

maidana's punches look wild but he wouldn't be so effective if he was just free styling in there. there are plenty of nuances to his game that you clearly fail to see.
