That's not what he meant, of course a win is preferred over a loss.
He's asking, which fighters' careers advanced after a particular fight that they happened to lose? Not quite the same thing, chap.
Nobody's attacking your hero in this thread so you can relax.Last edited by Derranged; 03-23-2014, 08:30 PM.Comment

Its never better than winning the fight but there are losses that enhance your legacy more than pre-fight.
Obviously Klitschko would have been better off beating Lewis but the effort put in and the talent showed in the fight increased his legacy and in fact rebuilt his legacy because many thought of him as a quitter because of the Chris Byrd fight. So while its not better than a win in the fight, a loss can definitely enhance a fighters legacyComment

Eric Morales vs Maidana.
Just incase people forgot he was a great boxer as well as a brawler, he comes in old and way out of his natural weight and puts in a great performance vs a prime killer like Maidana.
Provodnikov vs. Bradley.
Provodnikov was a virtual unknown fighting off of ESPN fnf's and gave a foty performance against a top level fighter like Bradley. Really put him on the map
There are surely countless examples but these sprang to mind for whatever reasonComment
