Lets play switch Trainers. Freddie Roach & Floyd Mayweather Sr

If Floyd Mayweather Jr was trained by Freddie Roach, do you think he would become a ambush or more offensive fighter?

If Manny Pacquiao was trained by Floyd Sr or Roger Mayweather, or even a Pernell Whitaker do you think he would become a counter puncher or better defensive fighter?

Imagine how great Manny would be if he never trained in some rice paddy when he was a boy and instead was taught from an early age of say 3 years old by the Mayweathers and won gold in the Olympics

The guy would be knocking guys out with counter punches left right and center

If Manny was more defensive he wouldn't be as great, if Floyd was more offensive he wouldn't be as great.

Imagine Floyd trying to engage in a perennial phone-booth fight. Lol, good night.

Manny would be a much better offensive and defensive fighter, Floyd would be a less impressive defensive fighter and more offensively minded, but would still be very much the same floyd because of his fathers influence when he was young, and also there is Roger. I think both of their resumes might be different, Floyd would probably have lost by now, but would still be ranked higher than Manny and they would have probably faced each other and on paper Floyd still wins, he has more overall talent, natural gift, and a very rich boxing environment when he was young.

This is rubbish. Floyd is even better in the pocket than from the outside imo, anyone who eats the wrong shot inside can be put to sleep if you are fighting on the inside, but there is zero reason to believe Floyd wouldn't hold his own inside where the punches need less distance to travel, and countering is easier to do.

With Roach, Mayweather would be likely to stay more in the pocket , like he did for a few fights with his uncle as a trainer.

With Sr Manny would probably limit his combination punching and take less risks. He would hit and move more, forcing his opponent to lead to then beat him to the pounch, or counter.
All things that Manny can do and has done in certain fights.

I already see where this is headed. Manny and Floyd would still be ATG fighters. /story.

And imo, Pedro Diaz would be a better fit for Manny than Floyd Sr. Pedro would turn Manny into a MONSTER. More than he already is.

I would like to have seen Hatton go to Roach after the Mayweather fight, rather than Floyd Sr. Floyd Sr was a very strange choice IMO, I can see why he chose him, to brush up defence, but he would have been unlearning everything he knew. Roach would have capitalised on his strengths rather than try to turn him in to something else, and I think his career may have carried on well for a few more years and registered a few more solid wins
