Fight cards which make you wonder why you even like boxing?

Watching the Thompson - Solis card from the beginning yesterday I began to question why I was a boxing fan, even wondering if was truly one in the first place.

We had a fat bouncer bloke who looked like he had never boxed before. He got punched a few times, got a bloody nose and then quit on his stool. I was confused, but thought It's only the first fight, it didnt take up too much time and hopefully the others will be better

Then we got the high skilled chess match that was Turkish/German bloke vs. Oloukan. Pretty poor fight, neither really landed anything clean, but it was a clear Oloukan win. He landed all the shots that had any effect (and believe me there werent many) but then was stiffed on the scorecards. I thought OK thats two crap fights and a robbery, luckily weve got two skilled top 20 HW's about to come into the ring. Even if its not that exciting hopefully the skill level will be decent

HOLY ****ING CHRIST this was a horrible fight to watch.Any natural balance/ coordination that Solis had in the past was collapsing under the weight of 50lbs excess fat. Tony Thompson was the better of the two but he's always been a slippery fighter who doesnt land a whole lot clean, and his age has accentuated that. 7 rounds in I felt like I had been watching this fight for hours. Absolutely terrible. At one point the commentators stopped talking for like 2 minutes, along with the crowd (most of whom had left) and you STILL couldnt hear any clean punches landing. I had to check the sound on my TV (no word of a lie there)

Another one would be the Liverpool card last week, saved slightly by Tony 'I CARRY POWER' Bellew, but still shocking for the most part.

Any other soul destroying fight cards?

Yeah that was awful. Watching Rocky from Stocky bumble around the ring chasing after the massively undersized Adamu for 12 rounds was probably one of the lowlights of my boxing viewing career

I was flicking back and forth, I couldn't get into it. You summed up what I seen perfectly. Pathetic weekend of action but I must say I am glad for Thompson, he deserves it. Even if its just for having three times the motivation Solis has despite being 70.

I was happy for Tony tbf. I was sure he was going to get shafted when one judge had it 4-0 to Solis after four rounds lol.

I didn't catch any of the cards these past 2 weeks, but I remember me and my friend staying up for the Jones vs BHop II fight. Probably the only "Big" fight I watched where I actually ended up falling asleep. Terrible terrible fight.

I know why but it will always amaze me why so many people want to bother with fat heavies bcse they're fat heavies instead of the Flyweights despite them producing 100x more entertainment.

That's why this card was in Turkey, so no one would watch it.
