Maidana or Matthysee: Who ya got?

I have no doubts: Maidana wins.
I know Lucas has one punch KO power, but Chino has "one fight career ruining" power (Monzón also had this strange kind of power).
I really like Lucas, but he doesn't have Chino's heart either.
I guess Maidana - Matthysse could be in the making, but maybe we'll see Floyd - Maidana II.Comment

lucas has a bad eye that would most definitely get re injured trying to war it out with maidana........people also forget that chino knows lucas's style very well (they fought & sparred countless of times) chino has handed lucas many whoopings............Comment

Matthysse. Maybe by stoppage. Most likely by decision. Maidana is durable and has heart so the stoppage probably wouldnt happen.Comment

considering that you're using a triangle theory (devon alexander) your argument means nothing.............everyone knows that chino does bad against movers & boxers (while lucas needs his opponents to be fearful of his power and on the move) it fits better to his style..........when a guy holds his own against lucas thats when he starts to break down. (thats why maidana have always done so welll against lucas) chino knows his style very well............Yes, they were at different weight classes, but one guy beat Alexander, and the other guy got routed by Alexander.
Also, you're talking about possibly the best body puncher in boxing against someone with a semi weakness to brutal body punches.
I'm going with Matthysse, even at WW.Comment

I disagree on that end of him needing people to be fearful. Every brave fighter he fought got beaten badly. Look at Ajose, Lamont decided to try and fight, Soto and even Garcia was losing clearly (though competitive) before that eye and even then needed some nice ref work (blow blows) and only won by a round.considering that you're using a triangle theory (devon alexander) your argument means nothing.............everyone knows that chino does bad against movers & boxers (while lucas needs his opponents to be fearful of his power and on the move) it fits better to his style..........when a guy holds his own against lucas thats when he starts to break down. Zab, and even Devon in some cases while "losing" didnt take much damage til late. In terms of a come forward fighter with absolutely NO speed in his feet or hands I wouldnt favor such a fighter over Lucas. Lucas weakspot has been combination punching from guys with some power. I think Danny has a better beard and by that extension Lucas compared to Maidana. I think if I were to compare Maidana and lucas directly I'd say Maidana is similar but more of a brute while Lucas has some of the qualities but is a sharper and more refined version with what seems like higher punch resistance. Lucas is just a little bit shorter with his punches, rolls just a little bit better with punches, and is better defensively with a great ability to parry and catch punches (some people dont give credit to that).
I honestly believe Lucas is a better version of Marcos but thats just my opinion. I hope they never fight as they seem like friends and i also think that so long as theyre both doing well that its also good for boxing in their country.Comment

Honestly,, Maidana owned Lucas in the amateurs, and last year when Lucas was asked about a Maidana fight, Lucas didn't want known and said some crap about going different paths....
Lucas don't want none of Maidana.....Comment

Devon owned Shawn Porter in the amateurs but Porter undressed him as a professional. So wouldn't use that but you may be right.Comment

Totally true,, can't take amateur success and think it will happen in pros,, sometimes it does with oscar-Shane, Shane-Forrest, or it doesn't like porter-Devon...
But the interview with Lucas saying he didn't want none, "on different paths" it's a sign he isn't very confident vs maidanaComment
