Lol, all you have to do is watch his highlights to see why. All his damage is superficial accumulation. Obviously I'm exaggerating is he would likely barely make it through the wet paper bag on the first shot, but still. He aint no home run hitter.

The guy's punching power decreased as he got older, and his resume isn't as good as it could have been, but he's a guy who produces a polemic.

He's either ATG, or a complete no hoper who couldn't punch as hard as Paulie.

don't make us post the early calzaghe vids to debunk this myth. he never ever had any punching power. he dropped an old eubank who was off balance and suddenly he's the biggest puncher in the world lol. punching power=being able to hurt your opponent when you hit his head and he just couldn't do that except in the rarest circumstances aka almost never

It's not a polemic though, Daggum - I'm a big fan, btw - and there's a level between Paulie and Hearns.

I do think he could crack more when he was younger, sure, but he was never a one-shot artist. Thing is, I never said he WAS.

But even the period when Fat Yanks were watching him, from Lacy to Royston, you saw a drop off in punching power. Look at how he's able to stun Lacy on at least half a dozen occasions, then compare to the Manfredo bout.

Joey Zags could **** it out with anyone.

Ask Roy Jones's face if Joe could punch. Ask iron chinned Chris Eubank if Joe could punch,Joe dropped him.Ask Kessler if Joe could punch.

Like it or not,Joe could punch.

so if calzaghe could punch what does that make danny green and glen johnson? the biggest punchers of all time? calzaghe couldnt even wobble a guy with a glass chin. that's like hitting seth mitchell for 12 straight rounds and not knocking him out...how! was eubank actually hurt when he got dropped? no. he had all his weight on his heels while going backwards and got hit. it's called gravity and yes it still applies even when calzaghe fights. feel free to post some of calzaghe's devastating ko's to demonstrate his power...you know ko's where his opponent is super wobbly or can't get up something like that. i'm sure he has a lot of those...
