This is what I think he may do. He will probably chirp up when the title is given someone new so as to make the casual public talk of him challenging for 'the' championship of the world again...Pretty pitiful.

He is clearly in the game for the fame and recognition and not for a real legacy. Yeah he has done some good things that deserve respect (before he started shaming himself) but he puts himself across as more of a celebrity than a boxer now, fooling the casuals here in the UK, and for that f**k him.

he is a clown but when he is healthy & on his game he can be an exciting fighter. there are not many HWs with his combination of power & speed. when you train as hard as guys like haye & the klitschkos injuries can become an issue. tearing muscles, etc. all the names mentioned above can't stay healthy all the time & it's a shame...

This is a case of the boy who cried wolf.I'd say guy,but the behaviour of Haye appears like that of a child.

I'm not all that naive and understand it is all about money making, trying to earn the bigger buck,or biggest buck possible.I just find it laughable when somebody's tries to defend this guy, seriously.parading your toe around a ring after a loss is outright pathetic,he should have rescheduled the fight before hand.it was blatant what he was trying to do,undermine Wlad's victory and try to win public support for a rematch,as so to double his money.

This new injury isn't going to be believed a hundred percent by anyone with an ounce of intelligence amd why should it ? Haye likely figures there is a chance of coming back for a title shot,on the bak on his impressive win over Chisora.a fight with Fury would likely have dispelled any chance of him fighting for a title after a points or KO loss to Fury.for the record yes I believe Haye would have been out pointed by Fury,Haye may have been able to drop Fury but no way he'd have been able to keep him down.

I doubt it is the last we have seen of Haye,he will likely call out the eventual WBC winner once they have sorted their mandatories out.but in truth I think we will see Wladimir successfully unify against Arreola.I think if Arreola wins he will want to be confirmed THE champion rather than a titlist.personally I feel Arreola genuinely wants to be recognised THE champion at the earliest opportunity and really truly believes he can beat Wladimir, why delay his goal by wanting to face Wilder and Perez, when there is a very real chance he could potetially lose his WBC belt and potential ability to unify all the belts and be recognised as THE heavyweight champion, the first American in over a decade.

whereas with Haye you really felt he never believed he could beat Wlad.

David Haye has made millions of $$$ out of boxing part time.

if he was 100% committed he could go further, but in reality I don't think his focus has ever been on his boxing since losing to Wlad.

Haye is entertaining when he wants to be, like when he fought Chisora.

But all his excuses and 'injury's' wear me a little thin to be honest.

I was looking forward to the Fury fight and I am still not convinced that Haye's 'sparring cut' was not self-inflicted.

He and Adam Booth are masters of the hype and 'will he, won't he?' type of fight promotion, and for me it is all a bit frustrating.

He should retire and enjoy his money, permanently.
