There is a reason why Lara is fighting Ishe Smith right at the half way mark of what should be opponent #2 for Canelo. Canelo is taking on a soch while waiting for the winner of Cotto v Martinez.
You people who think Canelo is worried or afraid of Lara when he just fought the #1 PPV fighter in the world in Floyd . You people are laughable!!!!!

Its's gonna happen but on Canelo's time, he is calling the shots. Lara has no pull in this situation.

The fight is gonna happen. I see people taking up for Floyd all the time when he makes theses so called business decision, I heard people giving Bradley a pass when he ducked Khan and used the business decsioion line eventhough Bradley has no following.

Now that Canelo is being smart about his career, it's different? He is gonna fight him it just doesn't have to be the very next fight.

If he does great, if he doesn't Lara needs to move and saty busy til the fight comes.

He just took on the toughest test of his life in Mayweather, believe me he is not afraid of Lara(he isn't even in the same stratosphere)

And again, it was Canelos fault Floyd's egotistic as.s decided to have a presser the same day as canelos first PPV at the MGM? Then he said Lara was fighting Ishe. If anything, Floyd had a lot to do with that paper belt you god got gifted to give ishe another shot at a boring as.s fighter he might actually beat. lol Lara doesn't do well against unorthodox fighters via Vanes, Molina. Now go back to bed old man
Fuck the belts. The fact that the Lara v Smith fight was basically set in stone before the Canelo v Perro fight speaks volumes to me. Canelo fans don't want it, and obviously GB doesn't either.

      • Not to mention, when Canelo does fight LAra the experience in the Floyd fight is gonna be a huge advantage for Canelo. Fighting one of the best defensive fighters in the world. Lara does not posess those tyoes of skills as Angulo showed us.

Lara doesn't know what fightin on that type of stage is like, not to mentionn he underperforms against guys he should be dominating!

ARE YOU ***ING SERIOUS? lmao so they had the lara vs smith in the background before the canelo vs perro fight and they announced and promoted the ppv only to say lara is fighting smith the day of the fight? it was all a conspiracy set up by golden boy to protect canelo! lmao you truly are numb my friend.

Lara's been a threat and more than deserving at 154 for too long.

Sitting out vs what should've been him instead of Angulo vs Canelo was already quite ridiculous. But you and every Canelo supporter is suggesting Lara should sit the next one out too?

Hey, don't be scared. Leave that to Canelo's financial team

ERISLANDY LARA VS. ISHE SMITH IN THE WORKS?
              February 26, 2014

Sources close to the information have informed us that a potential clash between interim WBA jr. middleweight champion Erislandy Lara and former jr. middleweight champion Ishe Smith is currently being discussed and could come to fruition in the very near future. In fact, we're told that the bout could end up as the main event of a Showtime doubleheader being targeted for April 26, exactly one week prior to the May 3 showdown between undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather and WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana.

Earlier this year, Smith made it clear that he had no qualms about fighting Lara, who has found it increasingly difficult to find willing challengers as of late. "I don't deem him no type of boogeyman or think people are scared to fight him. I don't look at him like that. He ain't built like that. He ain't cut like that to me. He decent, but I'm not overly impressed," Smith would tell FightHype's own Percy Crawford back in January. "Lara turned the fight down with me after his promoters contacted Leonard Ellerbe and asked us would we take the fight. I said yes and Golden Boy called us back and I guess they said no. I'm gonna do what I can do to make that fight at 154."

Not long after that interview, both fighters engaged in a brief war of words on Twitter. If the fight does indeed get made, it looks like they'll be able to continue that battle, and this time, they can let their fists do the talking.

At the press conference at the end of the Canelo-Angulo match. And ginger cincerella said to Lara he has to wait because he is looking for a grandpa or another bum to fight and continue increasing his record while being protected. He wants 4 fights in 2014, but at this pace looking for granpas he can make 5 or 6 better
