Because Canelo himself was coming off a loss. You know when most fighters come off their first career loss they usually have comeback fights.

All guys who try to come bounce back from a loss by fighting what people consider weaker opposition.

This dude doesn't realize Canelo is not ready for him yet, Canelo fights little fighters or previously beat up fighters.

This is the only reason i'm not a Canelo fan. He's seems like a humble enough guy, and looks good in the ring but all his wins are against smaller (Hatton, Joseito) or older, end of their career fighters(Mosely, Cintron). When Canelo finally fought someone legit at 154 he barely gets by, I had Canelo beating Trout by 1 point which came from the knockdown. He lost every round to Mayweather IMO but I think Mayweather beats Lara as well. FFS Canelo got his first belt against Matt Hatton at a 150 catchweight which he missed the weight for. And what does he get for those performances?, a PPV headliner in a non title fight against the man that is coming off a loss against Lara. Lara on the other hand has fought legit 154lbers, even though I don't agree with all the outcomes (he lost against Molina, he beat P.Williams), and based off just his opposition, Lara is ,and rightfully so,the #1 contender at 154 (Floyd is the Champ obviously). Why Canelo and GBP is not wanting the Lara fight is beyond me, he handled Angulo better than Lara did right? So whats the hold up?

When Lara fights Angulo, Lara has balls, Angulo is a tough fighter and Lara has the balls to get up from those 2 KD's.

But when Canelo fights and completely destroys Angulo, he has no balls. He's cherry picking etc.

What to you makes Lara so great? What makes him in your mind the next logical fight for Canelo? Yes Lara looked great against Trout [coming of a loss by the way] but he was taken to the wire by Angulo. He looked mediocre at best against Vanes, and many felt he should have lost and was given a gift against Molina.

What in your mind makes Lara any more worthy of fighting Canelo than say Molina who arguably beat him? Why must Canelo stay and fight Lara instead of moving up to 60 and fighting a top guy there while waiting for a mega fight with Martinez?

unless canelos fights someone worth the PPV like lara or GGG i refuse to buy garbage PPV fight than again if GBP cherry picks for him again..they will probably try to do an awesome undercard just so people buy the fight for the undercard rather than main event!!!!

Because Lara fought PW coming off a more devastating KO loss, and you could argue he was shot when he fought Lara right?
