Luis Ortiz has been even more protected than Deontay Wilder.

Monte Barrett is old and shot.

lmao at "The Real King Kong". Wasn't he called "Mercedes" before?

Also, I thought he was supposed to fight Povetkin.

Plus I don't think he's fought since he got KO'd vs cameron... like 2 years ago

Not being impressed by the slightest of Ortiz's resume is a understatement complete horse**** for a WBA ranked number 2 heavyweight contender the only fighter of note on his record is a 45 year old Bert Cooper who was in his prime in the late 1980's early 1990's who he fought in 2011.
Barrett was a good little gatekeeper several years ago but after losing by KO to fringe contender Shane Cameron and is now 42 himself and has not fought in 2 years it's just another record padder.

always liked monte barrett but after the cameron fight i didn't think i'd see much of him again. i guess we will see what he has left. this is ortiz's biggest step yet. i think he should have went with brian minto. he deserves a bigger fight then barrett.
