ummmm yeah, thats Wlad's fault. Also Lewis was retired by the time he got stopped by sanders.

of course it was wlads fault obviously and lennox didnt retire at that time. in fact his fight with vitali was after the wlad/sanders fight

And I think Sanders was exactly the sort to upset Lewis as well

Wladimir wins via brutal, embarrassing, soul shattering KO

Maybe he should have worked himself into a mandatory position to fight Lewis then

You're right, he didn't retire by then but my original point stands.

Haha, yes, that is a very valid point and one I don't contest.

But my point still stands. Had Lewis fought Sanders, it would have been unlike any other fight he had had in the early rounds. And given Lewis was prone to taking unlikely opponents lightly himself, I can see a McCall incident coming on here again as well.

Let's face is, had Sanders been a little luckier or put in a little more road work, either, or both, he WOULD have been a mandatory at some point.

He had Rahman beat basically and practically finished except the guy never had any legs for the middle rounds let alone the later ones.

                    Coulda, woulda, shoulda...

Lewis was unstoppable even in the late stages of his career and that's a fact.

I am a big fan of Lewis, and I rate him as a "First Tier HW" along with both Klitshko's.

                      But Lewis was not unstoppable.

Laughably you said even in his late career. Whereas it was exactly his 3rd to last opponent (Rahman) who DID in fact stop Lewis. Thoroughly outboxed him, and then viciously wasted him cold. Avenged sure, but that doesn't discount what happened in the 1st loss!

Fact is Lewis was up and down often as a HW.

When we say Wladimir or Vitali had a bad fight, what we are criticising is there method of victory, they STILL managed to win practically every single round and normally always KO their opponent.

Lewis was rocked by many of his lesser opponents, could not finish guys like MAvrovic etc and was almost bested by MErcer who should have been little more than target practice!

He was great. He was really really great. But don't try to sell me on his invincibility that was not really there. Dominant yes., that's for sure!
