Actually yes he did you mean coming off a controversial loss were most people thought he won and fighting a way bigger man and taking the fight in short notice as well. Ya well deserved I guess fighting taxi cab drivers and tomato cans makes GGG better than Martinez. Lol

How the hell does that work? Surely that makes Murray the top MW. Why does Golovkin get credit for other people's wins?Comment

Again Martinez and his team do their best to stay in the news. Dude, if GGG it's such a slush, why not unify with him instead of chasing a fight with a smaller fighter? You Won't get the same payday cotto will bring you but you still will get a decent check plus a ton of respect. Dude is crazy nervous, he keeps talking while everyone he's mentioning are living their life not worried about him. Dude knows he's getting ko'd come June 7th.
Side note, going back to Martinez picking a much smaller foe for this fight instead of fighting GGG. I get it, Martinez did it for the money, BUT LET FLOYD DO IT, most of ya here would go crazy. Same with canelo, had better opposition available to fight, but chose a dude that was coming of a lost instead of fighting the dude who beat him. Again, I get it, its more profitable, but if ya are willing to let Martinez and canelo get away with it, lets not get butt hurt when Floyd does it.Comment

To those saying GGG "needs to step up":
step up against whom? The likes of Murray, Sturm or Geale wouldn't be considered a real step up at this point since he already annihilated Macklin, who is on the same level as those guys. Quillin is fighting on a different network, and so far hasn't been too keen on facing GGG. Lara is a Showtime fighter, too, and as team Martinez would be quick to point out if GGG were to beat him, is a jr. MW.
So that leaves who exactly? Who does GGG have to beat to "earn" the Martinez fight? And don't say Ward or Froch, because both are far better than anyone Sergio has ever beat, and possibly better than Sergio himself even was.Comment
