  • Comments Thread For: Robert Helenius To Return on May 3 in Berlin?

According to reports in Finland, former EBU heavyweight champion Robert Helenius (19-0, 11KOs) will possibly return on May 3rd in Berlin, Germany - as part of Sauerland Event's card which features Arthur Abraham defending his WBO super middleweight title against Bikola Sjekloca in the main event.

Helenius' career has been plagued with injuries since 2011, which has forced him to be inactive with only one fight in 2012 and one in 2013. The 30-year-old fighter was also having a promotional dispute with Sauerland Event, but cooler heads have prevailed and it appears the two sides are now on the same page.

About time. HeŽll need one or two soft opponents to shake off ring rust and get his confidence back. HeŽs still only 30 yo and apparently in better shape now that Ulli isnŽt over-training him any more.

He doesn't exactly look like someone who overtrained.

Good to see him back. He was matched pretty tough early on. He is only 30 so let's hope he gets it back together & stays healthy...

He's still with that useless git, Wegner? This won't end well.

No, heŽs trained by his father Karl and promoted by Sauerland(?). Robert claims to be in better shape than ever, but no doubt heŽll be rusty and nervous so I hope they feed him a bum or two before going after any real contenders.
