Before the Mayweather vs Canelo,Canelo not only made made the weight against Trout, but he came in at 153.And Canelo who came in at 155 for Angulo, looked as slow if not slower then when he was in the Mayweather fight. So how was Canelo coming down to 152,worse then Oscar vs Manny,When Manny made Oscar come all the way down to 147 and Oscar had IV needles in him in the morning of the fight? And Canelo has always killed himself to make 154, or whatever,it doesn't mean he wasn't effective at that weight.

And shouldn't GGG be fighting the best instead of fighting a bum like Chavez who never beat anybody with a pulse? You people love criticizing certain fighters for ducking or supposedly ducking,But yet with GGG a lot of you give him a pass.A lot of GGG fans want GGG protected more so then GGG`s team.

JCC may land a few more on GGG than on Martinez but the difference is JCC will be absorbing monster shots heavier than Martinez throws over the course of a fight and it comes down to JCC being broken down and battered into submission by taking TOO many flush shots and having the inability to do anything differently.

              Hope they make this fight.

Has potential to be a foty type fight, imo.

Props to GGG for going up in weight to make this fight cause' Jr will be a cruiserweight or somethin' by the time they get into the ring.

Props as well to Jr. for fighting an obviously skilled (if mostly unproven) guy that is renown for his heavy hands.

I really am on the fence with this one as it could be true that Golovkin is levels above Jr. and will simply outclass him, but on the other hand Jr will continue to enjoy a size advantage, is not entirely w/o skill and has pretty heavy hands himself. He also has faced a version of Sergio that was far better than anybody GGG has fought in the pros.

At this point, it's pick em' for me.

No. I was commenting on the fact you say Chavez puts on a lot of weight after the weigh in. But all fighters put on weight after the weigh in.
Fighting at 160 GGG comes into his fights at 170+
So I wouldn't be surprised if for his fight 168 he's closer to 180 on fight night. Similar to Chavez.

I'd like to see this fight. I just hope Chavez respects the sport, prepares and makes weight though. That might be asking for too much.

                    Two points:

                    1. Golovkin won't take the fight. He claims that he wants to clean out the 160-pound division first. Also, this fight is too much risk, not enough reward. He will continue to feast on stiffs and has beens while he continues to call out Martinez and Quillin.

                    2. I would bet that Arum's offer to Chavez is contingent upon Chavez resigning with Top Rank for two more years. Contract renewal time is the only time Arum seems to want to make quality fights.

Instant candidate for Fight Of The Year! And I got Chavez Jr. in this one. Say what you want to about him, but he's got one of the better chins in boxing.
