In about a month or so I expect another one of these "Oscar is great. Just because" threads.

He has the stats to prove it. Has the style in the ring as well. I'm not like the Floyd nation bragging about PPVs/Fantasy fights and shit.

I personally feel like RJJ is one of the most overrated fighters ever. Sure, he has unprecedented level of athleticism, but once that went away, he was nothing more than an average boxer.

I can't stand the praise he gets for the heavyweight fight, it was such a farce. He cherrypicked the weakest link, a guy he knew he could beat. He didn't stay there and defend against the other heavies or fight the other true champs. His win is like Pac vs Margarito or Broner against a washed up Paulie.

I loved Oscar, much like I love Cotto now, win, lose or draw, they always fought the best available and more often than not, they won. You win some, you lose some, but at least you tried. I can respect that more than any attempts to swindle the public.

And please, why are people giving Jones credit for Tito? Tito was a fat 170 lb, washed up has-been who was retired

Can Andre Ward, Hopkins, Stevenson or Kovalev go up to HVWT and beat someone like Glazkov, Chisora or Pulev?

            Cause that's what RJJ did.

              Hopkins calzaghe

Long list of big fights in history of boxing, but Roy defenders act like no fights could be made with benn, Eubanks, Collins, michlewski when clearly history shows that fights like that get made and are usually huge moneymakers
And what about the domestic champs,,, Roy chose Brannon over unification with liles,,, that's when I truly realized that Roy is smoke and mirrors
In all fairness Eubanks didn't really want it and neither did michlewski benn and Collins fight could have tho.

I would not doubt Hopkins or Ward. They're special fighters fighting in your scenario, unremarkable guys. Stevenson and Kov are still largely untested.
