Matthyse is the bigger punches Maidana just throws his power from odd angles and its the punch you don't seeComment

Maidana. Bigger.. More ferocious. And since his technique has shaped up it's definitely Maidana.
Those using Devon as a barometer shouldn't... Devon had learned from Matts and Bradley ect.. For instance from Matts he learned its smart to stifle a puncher's output. From Bradley he learned to win in any way possible. If Devon had fought Maidana before he fought Matts.. Maidana would have knocked him down too, and possibly stopped him..
Anyway.. Maidana.Comment

It's interesting to see the differences in opinion here. I would say Maidana is the harder hitter but I can see why people are saying that its actually Matthyse.Comment

Chino has more raw general strenght, Matthysse seems to punch harder. Chino's strengh seems to come in handy when dealing with clinches and wrestling moves, like when Broner would try to clinch and wrestle him, Maidana would still free one arm and let him have it. Matthysse has that one punch KO thing that if he lands it, it sends solid guys nite nite.Comment

That depends on if you are comparing hooks to hooks and uppercuts to uppercuts instead of a boxers strongest punch to another boxers strongest punch.
It seems to me that Matthysse has more impact because he seems to land cleaner punches than Maidana, but Maidana just may have more force behind his punches, especially with those wild haymakers that he tends to throw.
So, for me, it would depend on how you rate a punch since different punches have different power depending on leverage and physics.Comment

Danny's mouthpiece flew out because he was laughing at what little effect Matthysse's punch had. He'd eat Chino's punches like Churrasco.Comment
