          The seventies certainly were amazing.
The heavies were deeper than ever....Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Shavers, etc.
          The Light Heavies were excellent.
You had Monzon, Duran, Zarate....so many guys.

For me, the best year I remember is 1982 -
          Pryor-Arguello, Holmes-Cooney, Chacon-Limon IV, Gomez-Pintor....
Hagler, Spinks, Braxton, Jeff Chandler, Gomez, Sanchez, Benitez.....Leonard's retirement (not good, but seriously newsworthy)
Lots of great fights, & great fighters in/around their primes.
Tons & tons of boxing on free T.V. ! The NFL went on strike....& the networks filled the time with boxing.
          Best year ever.

That's right. Boxing and horse racing were the most popular sports in America during the 30's and 40's. It's easy to pick 80-2005 because that's what most of us remember but I think the sport is at it's best during it's peak of popularuty.

This is hard to answer because in the minds of most people their favorite era is going to be the one they grow up and see for themselves. There is a feeling about seeing it live that cannot be duplicated.
