Wilder needs to get some serious appreciation around here. 31(31)-0 is a freaking awesome record. Even if you started out facing bums or journeymen, its no cake walk to actually KO them, most veterans are seasoned survivors. Then to move up and start doing the same to fringe guys and contenders, is still something special. He's now facing world level guys, what more do people want?
For years people have wanted a devastating American HW champ to emerge, and here is the guy, yet the public seem to want him to fail. I don't get it.

He doesn't deserve a top ten ranking or a title shot because he hasn't done anything to earn either. That's what pisses a lot of people off, including me.

Wilder should just ignore all the armchair fans crying fix.

Scott has no reason to throw the fight, he's not some journeyman, he's earning good money and has a great record, this loss is a huge step back. Wilder on the other hand still hasn't even had a 6 figure pay day, he's also got an extremely small fan base.

Yeah but see the airheaddz on here that think he took a dive... THEY don't think about his otherwise impressive record, his true aspirations, etc etc. They don't think things thru IOW.

So... what I'm hearing is that you'll only get behind him once he's beaten the likes of, Povetkin, Fury, Pulev etc. That means that American boxing fans only support guaranteed, nailed on winners once they've already been proven successful? Serious? What kind of fan is that?

From what I have seen is that Americans either support Wilder or want to support him but still have questions about his overall prospects.

There are other groups of fans who will remain nameless that want to see him fail because they have run their mouth for so long about American heavies being garbage (which was true) that they don't want to deal with what would come about if Wilder turns out to be a true wrecking machine.

IF Wilder turn out to be the real deal which is still a pretty large if, he would be such a huge boon for boxing the the US he would bring so much attention to the sport and the amount of money generated would be outrageous

BTW, I'm not against anything American, as an outsider I'm just amazed you're not all behind this guy. He has dynamite in both hands, a very crowd pleasing style and he brings excitement to every fight. What's not to like? Why wait until he beats a top ten guy to start showing some appreciation? If he was British (like Haye) they'd be ten threads a day on here saying how he would whup the Klitschkos.
