Comments Thread For: Shaw: Bryant Jennings Ready For Mike Perez Clash

Gary Shaw, promoter of heavyweight Bryant Jennings (18-0, 10KOs), tells BoxingScene.com that his fighter is ready, willing and able to face Mike Perez (20-0, 12KOs) at any time.

The World Boxing Council mandated two eliminators. The first took place on Saturday night, where Deontay Wilder crushed Malik Scott in the first round. The second would see Jennings collide with Perez.

the heavyweight that i'm interested to see again is carlos takam. that early loss to greg tony baffles me but he is a mack truck. i'd like to see him fight wilder...perez destroyed abdusalamov's face yet his punches were like mesquito bites to takam. I have a feeling there won't be many lining up to fight him. he needs to sign with a good promoter. I doubt perez will want to step in the ring again with carlos...

Sounds a lot like 'Geale is ready for GGG' before ducking him.

Jennings-Perez is a very good HW matchup. I hope it happens soon.

perez is better than jennings, I dont see much to jennings game other than a good right upercut , left hook combination I think he'll struggle with movement/volume.

If Perez still has no air under his wings he will loose sooner or later.

I respect Perez, I like his style BUT he seems to have lost that killer instinct after the Mago fight. Maybe I am making assumptions but I didn't see that fire / will that he had during the Mago fight.

Perez looked bad in his last fight. I see Perez slowly being phased out of the contender status and Jennings taking his place. Jennings is just hungrier and doesn't have the heavy burden of almost killing a fighter in the ring on his conscience.
