Whoever is the Matchmaker at GoldenBoy has no idea what they are doing....

eric gomez, al haymon and schaefer have had some clangers lately. first baby broner walkin down marcos mudda****in maidana. then canelos baby bro with no defense vs a ko artist thompson. now garcia vs a slip and slide, jab and grab crafty veteran.

im not saying they should have fought complete cans. but styles make fights , at least give your own A-side fighters a chance to win the fight.

I think they just want to make good fights, srs.

You can't give the public crap fights if you're attempting to take over boxing.

No matter what, they can say it was a tough matchup and not a showcase fight. If they win handily, they'll just say their guy was that good against a tough opponent.... not just them, all promoters

Meh. Its not a bad thing. I like to see fighters like Herrera get opportunities instead of being completely avoided. The cream always rises to the top and elite fighters can deal with and adjust to any style.

but the fight could have been more exciting, i think herrera is a top notch fighter who would blend well with alvarado over at top rank.

this was meant to be a showcase fight, not a fight to learn how to adjust vs herreras particular style.

Bad match makers are good for us boxing fans, why complain? It's better than the crap TR put on.
