I'm a fan of Pacquiao as well, he brings everything he's got to the ring every time he fights and is a very explosive guy. 50% of his fans are the ones that make it hard to speak well about him.
Duran is lightyears ahead of Pacquiao...
It has been stated several times...Pacquiao would have to go up to 147 and give a guy like Margarito complete hell for 12 rounds before finally fading down the stretch of the fight. This is the equivalent of what Duran did with Hagler. Then he'd have to come back at 147 after the close loss to Margarito and beat a guy like Miguel Cotto while flooring him to win the WBC welterweight title.
This all sounds ridiculous right? SO DOES EVEN FATHOMING THESE TWO BEING ON THE SAME LEVEL...

You didn't ask a Pac fan. Pac fans are guys like m00ks, chups, joms, thrilla, etc who can argue logical points in their fighters favor while being respectful and open to discussion.
Most of these clowns haven't the slightest idea of who Roberto Duran is or was.Comment

I had to leave the other thread because I could not believe the ******ity. Durán is a 5-time champion in 4 weight divisions who faced the best fighters of his generation and was only dominated by Hearns and Benítez. He was competitive in against the other elite fighters and beat some of them. Even in the "No Más" fight, he was only a couple of points down. Pacquiao "fans" should get real and actually take classes from Pacquiao on how to be a class act.Comment

One thing I'd also like to make known...
Pacquiao still has some good years left in him and his power will keep him around for awhile. When his explosiveness goes hes gonna start having some serious problems...half of his game is getting in and out quick with hard power shots.
Pacquiao could carve his own legend and in many ways already has, when considering Duran however...you are talking about a guy who is a consensus 10-15 greatest fighter ever. Nobody from this era is going to be placed among that group of guys, unless Mayweather closes his career with a few more big time names on his record and wins titles at 147 and 154.Comment

look as much as i hate leonard... when he was in his prime he was a tough cookie: hagler could not beat him, hearns could not beat him and duran moving up in weight beat him. leonard was one of the smartest sob's to step in a ring and duran made him fight his fight. if I see pac forcing floyd to fight his fight i will stand correctedComment

i voted yes, mainly for the FACT that PAC's career is STILL OPEN and at this point in time and momentum gained, SKY IS THE LIMIT on what MANNY can achieve ...
to achieve this PAC has to clean up at 130 and then catch the bus at 135, THE ROAD IS LONG AND HARD, BUT WHO KNOWS, WHEN THE WARS ARE OVER AND THE SMOKE HAS CLEARED, MAYBE JUST MAYBE WE WILL SEE ...Comment

I respect Duran for the legend that he is and the great figther that he was...
HE IS SOLIDLY THE BEST LATINO FIGHTER OF ALL TIME ...
PAC past performances have establish him to be among the BEST ASIAN Fighters of all times and if he keeps it up, He may well be THE BEST ASIAN FIGHTER OF ALL TIME...Comment
