mexican fans just aren't willing to back him as much anymore.

350k is ok but that card was basically an all mexican card

people booed Canelo for just standing there against Mayweather and they actual threw stuff at him because of the stoppage in this fight.

Bradley vs Marquez did 375k just to put things into perspective.

I'm willing to bet Alvarez vs Lara does 150k because casual mexican boxing fans typically don't like watching cuban fighters.

Impressive considering it was a silly fight between Canelo and a fighter who just lost. I have no doubt GB can make the same making a fight with Canelo vs Delvin Rodriguez who just lost against Cotto. Anyway Canelo is always looking for easy fights to increase his numbers. I hope that soon he star making real fights, with real challenge instead of predictable fights for him to win, like Lara, Kirkland, GGG. Lets see real fights!!!. I'm proud I didn't paid for this silly fight last weekend jaja. Please, don't say he is not making easy fights due to Mayweather fight. This is the exception because everybody want to loose against Mayweather and is not a risk because this didn't count to any fighter. Mayweather is in another galaxy and the profits are exceptional

You're a f.uckin' iiot. Anything north of 300k is good. Especially when you factor in that it was Canelo's first show. It was a tune-up fight against a bum. And that Canelo was coming off a loss. Floyd and Manny's recent PPV success has everybody's mind clouded as to what is and isn't a success PPV.

I'm not discrediting Floyd, cause I'm not a hater of his business making abilities.. BUT I will say having stacked and good competitive fights on his undercards, or popular fighters sure helped them pad them numbers.. going along with him running his mouth making people hate him.. Look what happened with guerrero/mayweather numbers, when canelo pulled out.. he quickly filled the void with Mares, who was popular vs another Mexican champ in Ponze.. for Canelo, didn't he stack it with what would of been a main event on it's own and fight of the night in Mathysse/Garcia? for the Cotto.. didn't he promise canelo a shot if he fought Moseley on the undercard? even for Ortiz he used one of Mexico's most followed fighters in Morales.. I think you see the pattern here.. that's why he kepts begging showtime/haymon/gbp to put Broner/Kahn on his undercard with maidana.. cause them dudes are both hated and people would like to see broner get slapped around into irrelevancy or kahn get ko'd into retirement! THINK MY FRIEND!!

He fights on those days clearly to help his sales because it is a big day for Mexicans, which are some of it not the biggest boxing fans worldwide.

But also lets remember those are big party days for alot of people, and a good portion of his buys come from people who have parties based around the event itself. Floyd is a big name, when he fights its all over ESPN and such, other fights just simply aren't. So people see it as a big deal, and they throw parties and purchase the PPV, it isn't just Mexicans and people paying to see him lose though I do imagine those are both a good portion of his sales.

Big boxing PPV matches are party events and people like to use any excuse they can to have a get together.

I'm shocked that Canelo didn't get 2 million buys. I thought he was the main one responsible for the record breaking numbers of The One.

The kid should be happy though. These are pretty decent figures for his first ppv. They are not too far from what Pacquiao got against Rios.

dude, people dont just buy the floyd ppvs just to see him. usually all of floyds ppvs have to have a good undercard. people pay to be entertained and enjoy the fights. if floyd was so popular he wouldnt be fightin on cinco de mayo or sep 15th. he would be the star he is and fight on the msg, but he dont because even his own fans dont buy his ppv.
