I don't think Floyd beats that version of Pacquiao either which leads me to believe is the exact reason FMJ avoided the fight at all costs. (and continues to avoid)

I think the Hatton fight did that.

Dumb statement. He weighed in 1 lb less than his previous fight. You fail.

Just because JMM knows how to fight Pacquiao doesn't make Pac a turd. It's called styles making fights.

            This.

Marquez is an intelligent fighter and KNOWS how to fight Manny. With that being said. everything Marquez does to foil Pacquiao Mayweather arguably does much better aside from combination punching which boils down to preference and tendency of the fighter more than anything but my point is thats why the few unbias Mayweather fans believe he would pull it off. I would have loved to see them mess eachother up personally.. Apollo vs Balboa style lol.

Not a great win? Cotto is a HOF and was in his prime.

I bet you think Floyds win over Cotto was great though huh.

Floyd is a better counter puncher than almost anyone except for the fact that he still takes turns. Floyd waits a fraction of a second before countering each time to avoid the first and second shot while JMM throws at the same time trying to land his first. That is what gives Pacquiao problems even though he's been able to drop JMM a half dozen times.

In my opinion, the slight timing differences will make a difference. While it's the same fight on the outside, it's still not technically the same fight. Pac will throw, possibly get hit and then hit Floyd back as the counter is thrown. Floyd for all his wizardry will not throw at the same time as Pacquiao. That would be suicide and we know who Floyd cares about most.

This will always be a must see matchup of styles unless one of these two gets shot and I don't see that right away.

Nice.. you make a great point and you're right. Marquez punches WITH manny and Mayweather sorta just waits before shooting his counter, I agree that slight difference in timing is important. I guess its safe to say Mayweather wouldnt be able to beat him using the Marquez strategy. I believe he still beats him though IMO but obvs Mayweathers willingness to fight, and Mayweather being capable of defeating him are two different debates lol.
