Most annoying ref ever?

Smoger kills me when he refs a dirty fight. He begs and pleads with guys to fight clean ! Come on guys! Keep it clean! He had enough of Murat's fouls on Hopkins. He headbutted Hopkins during a break as the bell rung, and Smoger put his hand on Murat's forehead and pushed him away, LOL.

Tony Weeks knew that Alvarado was taking a vicious beating from Provodnikov and really didn't want to continue. But his corner wanted him to keep fighting! So Alvarado takes another pounding from Provodnikov, and Weeks follows him to the corner. Weeks asks Alvarado if he want to come back out. The corner man start telling Weeks that he's okay, then Weeks goes NO NO, I want to hear from HIM ! He asks Alvarado and he quietly says he's done. Weeks looks at the corner men and says that's it, fights over! They looked at him like come on man !

he actually paused the fight to admonish Briggs' corner for profanity
but he wouldn't stop the fight as Briggs was being murdered

ref from the 1st Bute-Andrade fight gets dishonorable mention
and of course, gotta add Cortez for Soto's 1st fight vs Lorenzo

For me, Joe Cortez was the most consistently annoying ref I've ever seen. I think the guy actually thought the spotlight was on him.

That's what annoys me too. Refs who talk too much or have those ****** catchphrases and are clearly trying to be the centre of attention. You don't want egomaniacs in charge of a fight.

That's why I think Kenny Bayless and Tony Weeks are the two best high profile refs that are in the sport at the moment. No bull**** attention seeking antics from either of them. I know Weeks didn't cover himself in glory in the Garcia-Matthysse fight but he's had too many good nights to let one bad night define him.

I dont remember it like that. I remember Alvarado's corner wanting to pull him out, and Weeks saying he needed to hear it from his own mouth... basically stripping Alvarado of any pride he could have had in defeat.
