Kotelnik was an Olympic Silver Medalist and had solid fundamentals. Khan didnt win a "vacant" belt vs another contender, but took it off of a champ.Comment

What the **** are you babbling on about? I'm talking about your overbearing, fawning support, you dunce. Making threads attacking other boxers credentials because said boxer is constantly linked/calling out your supposed idol.
Hamed and Calzaghe are similar because they fought mostly no namers and raked in title defenses. When they did fight a genuine guy it was "mostly" an over the hill dude. They are different cuz Hamed finished his with KOs so people tend to overlook who it was he beat. Even when Hamed did come to States besides Kevin Kelley he fought padded up Cesar Soto and Augie freakin Sanchez type of dudes. He had a fun ride and made $ so good for him.
Hamed beat every notable title holder in his division, actually beat the best fighter in his division to establish himself as the best in his division (something Khan never did) - a position he helf over a period of four years.
These fighters are "no namers" to casual newbs who've been following following this sport for a very short period and has zero knowledge of that particular era.
Khan was in the UK when he got blasted out inside of a minute against the unheralded Breidis Prescott, you.
And who were the killers that Khan fought that were so superior to what Calzaghe fought, squire? Malignaggi? McCloskey?Last edited by Ham Porter; 03-16-2014, 05:08 PM.Comment

Khan would be ATG because he is so skilled. He has iron chin, impregnable defense, robocop-like accuracy, Marquez-like combinations with camacho-like speed, the balance of phillip petit or whoever that guy on man on wire was, and could finish better than myself in the bathroom stall at work during 15 minute break.
Hamed got schooled by Barrera. Khan got robbed against Peterson and only lost to Prescott and Garcia because they got lucky. Khan was winning and would have won if he didn't get caught. Khan has the jab of a modern day WW Larry Holmes but he is not so ugly.
Tom Johnson had 13 title defenses but did he have the power, grace and tenacity of Maidana? I think not.
He would have cleaned them up and said "yippee Kay-yai, mudda fucckka"Last edited by Richard Wadd; 03-16-2014, 05:54 PM.Comment

Although I do admit i mess around saying things like "sparring with Khan is key for Angulo". Plus im not looking forward to win "poster of the year" thing they do here so i can care less about being bias for Khan, Abril, Martinez and Stevenson etc

Thats like me giving Khan credit for beating a 35 year old Barrera.

Also that solidified the fact he is vulnerable and he came back from that loss to become undisputed champ and relevant enough to be considered for a Mayweather fight. How far did David Price get with his chin?

Khan's career isnt finished, but he is a guy who gets put down, but gets straight back up. Calzaghe seldom took risks besides Kessler and even with Lacy he pulled out repeatedly cuz he wasnt sure he would win. Even with a wank opposition he had those "joke" stoppages helping him out there is a whole play list on youtube of those.
Calzaghe in a nut shell.
Hamed lost once in his career and decided to call it quits after one tune up cuz he realized he would get smashed by Moraleses of the World. Yet Khan keeps coming back and thats a real fighter.
Khan is a chinny over achiever and he was not suppose to get where is today and you people cant bear it.Last edited by Box-Office; 03-16-2014, 11:06 PM.Comment

1) de la Hoya/Vargas (everything about that fight--especially the build-up)
2) PAC/Marquez IV (I've always been a PAC fan, but I'm a boxing fan first). That KO was an unreal moment
3) traver KO jones (the entire pub went silent for 10 seconds--epic)Comment

Two actually, squire.
Rrrrright so Steve Robinson was a better title holder than Wilfredo Vasquez of mid 90s?????? Funny how Naseem Hamed never fought Wilfredo Vasquez back in 96 when he also held a belt yet waited for him to reach pension age.
Thats like me giving Khan credit for beating a 35 year old Barrera.
No, that's like you giving Khan credit for beating Zab Judah, which is exactly what you do later on in your post. This irony is obviously lost on you.
@ "at this point", as if there was ever a point in Amir's career where he could have legitimately been called an "elite fighter."
You come out with absolute bollocks like that, and you wonder why I question the legitimacy of your support of Khan?
Khan also never hid there milking a belt for 20 defenses against the local bus drivers.

Khan was never undisputed champion, you thick prat. And as far as being "relevant enough" to be considered for a fight with Mayweather: everybody trashed the very idea of that fight and laughed at the notion of Khan being a credible opponent for that fight - so much so that they were willing to accept someone like Marcos Maidana as being more deserving of the fight.
Malignaggi became a world champ in another division after losing to khan and is going to fight in an another world title fight so im not sure how thats funny. Mclcoskey was a stay busy fight infact all Calzaghe fought were Mccloskeys. You forgot Kotelnik, Judah and Maidana. He fought Peterson in his backyard despite being a champ and got jobbed. Even if you consider the reffing being good what about the roid thing?

I'm laughing at the very idea of you discrediting other people's resumes while bigging up a proven failure like Paulie Malignaggi as being somebody worth bragging over. Laughing even harder at the notion of Malignaggi becoming a "world champ" based off of him fighting some Ukranian stiff who was the absolute definition of a paper champion.
Amir is done. Hasn't beaten a relevant contender in three years, doesn't have a ****ing clue on what sort of boxer he actually is anymore, and inevitably is going to get starched again.Comment
