Im going tell all of you guys how it is... This is going to be an interesting fight because Martinez has always relied on his legs in every fight. His style is to stick and move. He has awkward footwork that throw fighters off because he comes from every angle and is always dancing around the ring. This is probably the reason why he's knee's are shot now. Lots of jumping up and down and lateral movement puts an incredible amount of strain on the knees. I know cause I've a my knee complete reconstructed (ACL and Meniscus repair) with two screws. Once you have knee surgery, your movement will never be the same. Your knees will never be the same. You will be reluctant to execute those crazy move that you used to do out of fear that you injure the knee again.

Cotto is a small compact middle weight. I think Freddy Roach's strategy will be for Cotto to come in on Martinez real close so he won't give Martinez room for those power shots and work the body hard. Left hooks to the liver all night. Cotto has to stay compact and fully focus on the body. Martinez won't be able to stick and move like he used to therefore it will be an ugly upclose type fight. Despite of Martinez size, I give Cotto a good chance.

Cotto will come in strong at 159 where Martinez will be slightly drained. You combine Martinez being slightly drained at 159 with his age (40) and knee injuries with a Cotto that is full of confidence, Roach by his side and comfortable weight and you have a pretty good fight in your hands... Its going to be competitive....

At that point Margarito had been pro longer than Martinez had been boxing. Sergio started in '95 and took a year off due to a broken hand. Margarito's debut was in '94. If the Antonio who knocked out Cotto fought the Maravilla of that time he would have been Mosley'd a year sooner.
