Man, Bob Arum is one funny dude! He rants and rants all the while contradicting himself. He asks, "Who the f**k is Gamboa?" But then immediately follows that statement by mentioning a fighter no one has ever heard of. LMAO Bob! You talk about idiotic!!! Gamboa at least has a name and the American public would want to watch it. I agree that Gamboa doesn't deserve all the money he's asking for, but don't ask who he is and then mention a complete stranger to us. If he were someone he wouldn't have to host the fight in China. Arum being Arum again...

I have a serious question so who is Mickey going to fight that's more popular/well known than Gamboa in the states?

I'd love to see Mikey against Uchiyama. That's a damn good fight.
HBO needs to stop paying for Golovkin's bum fights and start airing some of these unification matchups at the lighter weights.

Uchiyama is a great fight, but most people want to see Mikey versus Gamboa. You don't see this kind of interest for an Uchiyama fight. HBO clearly agrees.
It's my opinion that the Garcia camp, Mikey's brother Robert in particular, are concerned for their fighter. (I don't believe Mikey is afraid.) I think they consider Yuri a very real threat, and they weren't willing to risk their boy unless Gamboa bent over backwards. Mikey claimed Yuri was "pricing himself out," yet Gamboa publicly stated in a TV interview that he was willing to fight for 500k.
