Get real. Chavez went high into that fight and battered Martinez in that 12th round like the overrated fighter he is:

Golovkin would literally send this guy unconscious to the nearest hospital if he ever dared to sign the contract. I wouldn't be the least surprised if the smaller Cotto stops him too.

Golovkin has never faced a fighter as accomplished as or on the level of Martinez. While Golovkin keeps fighting the Curtis Stevens of the world, Martinez has been fighting top ten middleweights.

Kelly "The Drunk" Pavlik who was abusing alcohol through the entire training camp and it ended up forcing him out of boxing? Or was it Chavez Jr who was abusing weed and didn't let his hands go until that 12th round? Or was it Williams who was very vulnerable to counters whose best win was this Martinez we are talking about now..

Macklin slapped Sergio and troubled him for 11 rounds. Golovkin absolutely destroyed him in 3 lol.

You and I both know Golovkin is on another level in comparison to Sergio.

He's done absolutely nothing to prove that. Pavlik and Chavez are better than anybody Golovkin has beaten.

            LOL, I rest my case.

It is easy to tell you agree with my opinion but would rather not express it publicly.

            Have a nice day, Cold!

I don't even think of Martinez as the real 160 pound champion. He has been running away from GGG who has been his number 1 challenger for years now. He takes well over a year vacation to heal his injuries which would not be so bad if he would fight GGG in his 1st fight back. But instead he cherry picks fat little Cotto to defend his middleweight title. Cotto earned his shot at Martinez's 160 pound title by losing two fights in a row at 154 and then beating an unranked 154 pounder. Really Cotto gets the fight because he is smaller and a very high reward low risk opponent. That's the kind of fight Martinez loves. He will beat Cotto and continue to refuse to fight GGG. If he ever does the right thing and fights GGg and wins then he will be my middleweight champion again. For me the true middleweight champion is the best middleweight in the world, GGG. He will fight anyone brave enough to sign the contract. I can't share your high rating of Martinez because he has been a poor champion overall. He has maybe two good wins but the rest of his title fights were not against very good opponents.

Boliodogs, Martinez is lineal champion whether you like it or not. Golovkin has no more a claim to be champion than Quillin or Rubio. Martinez has a right to take a tuneup after his injuries. And he's openly said he'll fight Golovkin.

Martinez is undisputed MW champ of the world, the last undisputed MW champ hands down was Roy Jones Jr.

The only guy I would pick over him is Andre Ward. As the only reasonable sized opponent.

                    All hail Maravilla.
lol.. is this a joke? martinez was never undisputed MW champion, he was lineal champion but that has been tarnished as well by hos choice of opponents.

jermain taylor was the last undisputed MW champion, he held ALL the belst at once after "winning" them from hopkins. then he was either stripped or vacated some of the belts, not sure which but from some time he was undisputed champ.

for the record canelo, golovkin, murray, stevens, geale and sturm all beat martinez. even pacquiao, mayweather and cotto probably beat him despite the fact that they are much smaller.martinez doesnt deserve to fight any of them until he cleans up at MW though, even then they are unfair fights due to size but at least he could say he beat everyone in his own division. now he is just making a mockery of the title calling out WWs while there are a bunch of great fights at 160.

Pacquiao? Sturm? Geale? Stevens? Really? You think Curtis Stevens beats Martinez? Martinez has consistently fought top opposition as middleweight champion. After this tuneup against Cotto, he'll get back to fighting top middleweights.
